No matter where you live, boots, booties, and shoes are something you should definitely stock up on for the fall season! Update any of your basics that are looking tired and too worn. And consider any basics you might be missing! Something else to consider is the weather…In Colorado, I need a lot of waterproof options. But if you live in Texas, you probably only really need 2-3 pairs of high-quality boots/booties. Below, I’m sharing 9 of my favorite boots, booties, and shoes from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year!

Minimalist & Versatile
If you’re looking for a really classic, chic, versatile pair of black knee-high boots, these are a wonderful option. They have a manageable and easy-to-walk-in 3” sculptural block heel, a side zip for easy on/off, and they come in a few other colors. They are $150 during the sale and $239 after. Wear these with leggings, jeans, skirts, and dresses this fall/winter.
Next up is a more classic knee-high boot by Paige. It comes in this gorgeous cognac color and black. They also have a very manageable 3.25” block heel and convenient side zip closure. These are more classic and streamlined than the last pair and you’ll wear them for years and years. They are $350 during the sale and $498 after.
If you’re looking for a chic pair of booties that will go with everything, these Linea Paolo booties are IT! They have an on-trend square-toe and cool block heel (only 2”). The zipper on the back gives these a very streamlined, sleek look. They also come in brown suede. Get them for $100…a steal! They will be $160 after the sale.
I tried on these chic sock booties by Dolce Vita while I was in-store and know they will be a heavy hitter in my fall/winter wardrobe. Since they are a sock bootie, they go under EVERY denim or pant leg, and they pair beautifully with skirts and dresses too! They have a 2.25” heel, side zip, and they also come in brown and light tan suede. Get them during the sale for $120 ($185 after the sale ends).
I have a similar pair of Rag & Bone sneakers in a few colors and love how casual, comfortable, and easy they are. Throw them on with pretty much any of your everyday outfits for an effortlessly chic look. These are perfect for year-round and on major sale right now. They are $191 now and will be $278 after the sale. They also come in a fun blue and white colorway.
I have a pair of P448 sneakers and they rival Golden Goose sneakers in terms of comfort. This pair has a cool snakeskin print on the heels and neutral suede accents that make these wearable year-round. They’re $200 during the sale and $298 after.
These Vince sandals are a great wear now, wear later shoe and will easily transition into fall. They have a 3” heel that’s very manageable and easy to walk in. They have a cushioned footbed, also come in black and white, and are on sale for $220 right now ($295 after the sale).
Slingbacks are super on-trend right now and I tried on this pair and the following while in-store. These are super cool, edgy, and chic. I love the buckle details, elastic strap for maximum comfort, and the small 2” heel. They come in 4 colors and are $80 now, $120 after the sale.
These Sam Edelman look so luxe and like a very expensive designer shoe…for only $90 ($140 after sale). They have a teeny tiny 1.75” heel and an adjustable buckle strap. They come in 4 colors but the white or black will be the most versatile!

I bought the Open Edit wedge booties in Ivory since Erin had a wedge boot last season but in a higher price point brand… and also the Schutz booties mentioned in the post in black.
My question is how do you wear booties with diff pants/jeans lengths and bottom style opening cuts? The open edit ones are sized around the ankle area. But the Schutz booties are larger than the size of ankle… so is the only way to wear them with a long pair of pants with a a wider hemmed bottom they fit under or by pulling the skinny jeans out of the further back closet again to wear over jeans? I have a lot of ankle length jeans that are straight or boot cut so I’m not sure if I should return the Schutz boots for a tighter ankle style? I just really love their fit and quality though! I guess I need some styling help regarding pants and different diameter booties! Thanks as always!
It’s definitely easier to style the ones that have a narrow ankle, but I still absolutely LOVE the Schutz pair too! Wider leg jeans/pants, skinny or tapered jeans, cropped flares, even dresses will go great with these booties. Also you could try out cuffing your jeans to where they fall just at the top of the ankle of the boot and see how that looks/feels. Play around with them with what you’ve got in your closet.
