8 Budget Friendly Ways To Add A Pop of Spring To Your Home

Add A Pop of Spring To Your Home woman carrying leafy green plant, affordable spring home decor

Spring, Is That You?

While the winter months certainly elicit welcome feelings of coziness and comfort, come March it’s difficult to deny the appeal of Spring. Warmer weather. Renewal. A switch inside me actually flips on March 1. Sweaters go to the back of the closet. Open-toe shoes start making an appearance (well, maybe after a pedicure). And, I feel the urge to change-up the “winter-vibe” in my house. More plants, flowers, a lighter color palette … just seem to be ripe for the occasion. Let’s talk about ways to add a pop of spring to your home, without breaking the bank. First, we’ll start outside. Then, we’ll work our way indoors with some items to bring your home out of a state of hibernation. You’ll see, it doesn’t take much to bring a springtime feel to your space, even if you’re still surrounded by snow.

I can’t be the only one ready for spring. What’s your go-to spring home décor item? Please share in the comments!

Spring Wreath

Nothing says "springtime" more than a fresh wreath on your front door. My mom always decorates her front door with a holiday-inspired wreath which sets the stage for the season. So now, I'm inclined to do the same. These eucalyptus, olive leaf and lilac wreaths are gorgeous for a door, kitchen or fireplace mantle.

New Doormat

No matter how much I spend on doormats, they never last more than a season or two. Even in the mild CA climate, they shed, fade and show signs of wear. Now I purchase affordable mats, like these from Target, when the tattered ones need replacing. Personally, I love the wine-inspired mat, but a simple hello works too.

Outdoor Lights

Admittedly, my outdoor space needs some TLC. These white string lights are sure to refresh my otherwise pretty dismal outdoor patio. Put a few strands around your garden, patio or balcony and everything just looks prettier. Just as my thighs look better with a slathering of self-tanner, my patio looks better with a bit of glow!

Fresh Glassware

Are you ready to trade your hot cocoa (or hot toddy) for a lemonade (or citrusy sparkling wine)? This cane glass pitcher and carafe is perfect for outdoor dining.
5

Kitchen Runner

This kitchen runner has the perfect springtime colors, has 821 4+ star reviews AND it’s on sale. Need I say more?

Pampas Grass

Have you seen it? Pampas grass seems to be everywhere. It’s not easy to find pampas grass that is large, pretty, and doesn’t shed a ton, but these foot the bill. Make sure you blow-dry them to maximize their fluffiness and that will also prevent continual shedding.  3-6 stems on your dining table would be so ... *chef’s kiss*!

Colorful Coffee Table Book

This vibrant book gives me all the spring feels. It's a stunning montage of beautiful houses and gardens from Vogue's archives. And well, it just looks cool and chic on my coffee table. I ordered it last week and could spend hours devouring the imagery. It's gorgeous. Can you picture this alongside a short vase of peonies?  Yes, please.

Vase Trio

For a simple refresh, display this set of petite white vases on your console table or kitchen counter. Style them with a spring of fresh greenery or flowers. Set them on a wooden tray surrounded by citrus. Put a sprig in one vase and leave that other two empty - so chic!

Spring Scent

Yes, there is actually a #9 because I just have to share this with you! This detergent with its odd packaging, even odder name (Glamourous Wash in Diva), small size (32 oz), and rather hefty price tag for detergent, is just. So. Good. It smells like spring (not divas). Just add a cap-full to your loads of sheets and towels and you’ll see what I mean. You won't be sorry if you add this to cart. You just might get addicted, like me. The scent is fresh, light and clean. Even my teenagers have commented on the good smell…teen BOYS that is!

  1. You’ve inspired me to get my Spring on! In Colorado, Spring outside doesn’t truly happen until May, so these are great ways to bring a Spring-y vibe inside and to the deck and porch. Oh, and I totally agree about the self-tanner being part of this equation. Haha, so funny! Thanks for the great tips!!
