If you’re new here, my go-to sneakers have been the Veronica Beard Valentina sneakers—a beautifully designed option that blends comfort, elegance, and a subtle luxury vibe. They’re stylish without trying too hard, and most importantly, they’re not on everyone’s feet… yet. (Think Golden Goose or Sambas) Last year, I shared the black pair which ended up being a top seller. Turns out, you guys love these sneakers as much as I do!
I’ve worn my Valentina sneakers everywhere…whether I’m running errands, hopping on a plane, or grabbing lunch with friends. I love that they add polish to a casual outfit without overpowering it. They have a subtle platform which adds height, which makes them especially great for my petite ladies! And did I mention how easy they are to slip on and off? The laces are already done for you—no tying required.
Honestly, I could go on and on about how much I love these sneakers…
The Styling Struggle Is Real
Let’s talk about the real pain point though: How do you style sneakers in a way that feels flattering and elegant—not clunky or overly casual?
Here are a few of my tried-and-true tips:
✔ Pair with Loungewear– In the picture above I paired my sneaks with a similar toned, chic and stylish loungewear set. This set by Varley is next level soft and cozy, but definitely on the thicker side. I wouldn’t recommend it right now for those of you in a hotter climate. Here in Telluride, I can wear sweaters year round so it’s not an issue.
✔ Go Monochrome – Wearing similar tones on top and bottom elongates the leg and keeps your sneakers from standing out too much. I went monochrome with both outfits above, the loungewear set in ivory and I also paired the sneakers with an open knit off-white sweater and cropped ecru jeans. (The exact sweater is mostly sold out. Here is a similar option you can try.)
✔ Try Tailored Pieces – To elevate your sneakers, try pairing them with tailored pieces like a gorgeous blazer and wide-leg jeans.
The Veronica Beard sneakers check every box. They’re sleek, minimal, and easy to dress up or down. It’s the kind of sneaker that quietly says: “I know what I’m doing.”

Let’s Talk Color
One of the best parts about these sneakers? They come in so many gorgeous colors and materials. I own several pairs myself because… well, once you find a shoe that fits, buy it in every color, right?
✔ Classic Black – Crisp, timeless, and seasonless, the black pair is my year-round go-to! You could also opt for a pair with a silver or leopard accent—a playful twist on a classic silhouette and a little unexpected glam.
✔ Neutral Mesh – My pick for hotter months! VB has a few options in a lighter, mesh-like fabric that is breathable. The lighter tones make them a summer essential. There are also neutral color options in all leather like the light pair I’m wearing above.
✔ Shearling Lined – The shearling-lined pair is literally like my favorite pair of slippers. I slip them on to put out the garbage, grab packages, walk the dog, walk around the house, pretty much every errand you can think of. They are SO cozy and warm. No socks needed!
