No Need to Shy Away From Wearing White Jeans
In the video below I’m tackling white jeans and pants. White can be a really scary color to wear because it can make you look bigger. But, I have some tips to help! Keep scrolling to see my tips and white pants picks!

#1 | Size Up
The first tip is to size up! Especially if you’re buying skinny jeans or a tighter fitting pant. You don’t want white pants or jeans to fit tightly to the body because they are less forgiving and will show every lump and bump.
#2 | Fabric
With darker colors, you can get away with a lower quality fabric. But with lighter colors like white, it’s easier to see if the garment is not well made. So think about purchasing a higher quality pair. It’s also a good idea to get a thicker fabric, like denim, twill, cotton or ponte knit. It will be more forgiving and flattering.
#3 | Fit
Just like everything else in your wardrobe, you want to pick a silhouette that works best for your body. If you know that a certain brand works for you, then buy your white pants in that brand, For example, if Rag & Bone skinny jeans fit you really well, buy some white Rag & Bone skinny jeans.
If you’re a little bigger in the hips, butt, and thighs, you might want to go with a straight or wide leg. The wider leg will balance your curves.
#4 | Pockets
White pants can be see through. Sometimes you can see the pockets through the pants AND they can add bulk around your hips. I like to look for a pair that doesn’t have pockets or simply have a tailor cut them out and see them shut. It’s a really easy fix!
#5 | VPLs
When you wear white pants or jeans, VPLs or visible panty lines can be a problem. You should wear no seam or no show panties so you can’t see the panty line through your pants. A good brand for seamless panties is Hanky Panky. Once you’ve found a pair you like, buy a bunch of them because you know you’ll wear them!
#6 | All White
The monochromatic white look can make you look really tall and slim. If you’re going to do this, make sure to vary your tones and textures. It adds depth and interest to your look. All white is so fresh and nice for spring and summer. It is also the perfect blank canvas for your accessories.
#7 | Longer Top
When you’re wearing a slimmer fitting pair of white pants or jeans, consider a longer top. The hemline should fall between your hipbone and mid thigh. It will slim down the thigh area and create the illusion that you’re slimmer through the hips.
#8 | 3rd Layer
This is more of a general styling tip…add the third layer! For those of you in hotter climates, it might be too hot for you. But for those of you in a cooler climate, the third layer is perfect for spring! This layer can be a hip length blazer, cardigan, vest, sleeveless trench, moto jacket, etc. The third layer adds more interest and sophistication to your look while slimming down the hips!
#9 | Tunic Dress
In my spring lookbook video, I showed a tunic dress over white skinny jeans. This is an unexpected, stylish option that will also mask bigger hips, butt and thighs.
#10 | Shoes
The shoes you wear with your white pants or jeans are important! If you want to make your legs look longer and slimmer, wear a neutral color. You can try white, nude, metallic, gold, rose gold or gray.
