Capri Is Peak Luxury – The 4 Outfits I Wore to Fit the Island’s Vibe

What to Wear in Capri, Italy

What’s it like in Capri, Italy? In one word…luxe. In two words, luxe paradise! In case you missed it, we shared all about Erin’s recent family trip to Italy to celebrate her 50th birthday. You can read all about their full Italy itinerary here. But in today’s post, we’re breaking down what she wore walking the streets, out to dinner, and taking in the breathtaking sites of Capri. Erin effortlessly dressed the part with outfits as beautiful as the scenery and we’re sharing all of her favorite looks.

If you’d like to see all the outfits Erin wore throughout Rome and Positano too, make sure you check out this post next.

what to wear in Capri, Italy

Outfit #1) Midi Dress Day Look

This first look is what Erin wore on the very short ferry ride from Positano to Capri. She’s wearing a super affordable and comfortable dress by Avara in the most stunning blue pattern. You would never guess this dress is under $100! The blue and white color combo suited the island vibe just perfectly. On her feet, she’s wearing a comfy pair of espadrille sneakers by Linea Paolo. These were excellent walking shoes, but Erin did recommend wearing socks with them, so your feet don’t get too sweaty. She added a white belt for waist definition, a statement necklace, white sunnies, and a Valentino handbag to finish off her look.

Midi Dress Evening Look

This photo was actually taken in Positano, but we wanted to show you how Erin took the same Avara dress from day to night…just so you can see how versatile it is. She glammed up the dress a bit for a casual dinner by swapping the sneakers for a pair of chic metallic Pedro Garcia sandals and adding a cropped Cinq a Sept jacket since it was chilly.

Outfit #2) Versatile Mini Dress

Keeping with the same blue and white color scheme…Erin also wore this blue and white fit and flare mini dress by Aje. It has adjustable straps, stretchy ruching at the back for a perfect fit, and pockets! Erin styled it with a pair of Sam Edelman platform heels and the same accessories from the previous look. But for walking around and exploring, she swapped the heels for her comfy sneakers. Easy dresses like this one were such an ideal packing option for Capri. You can transition them from day to night with just a few accessory swaps.

Erin mentioned there are a lot of narrow streets and stairs galore in Capri. So sneakers and flats were her go-to. She loved seeing all the high-end shops in Capri like Prada, Dior, and some of the more obscure high-end brands like Silvia Tcherassi and L’Idee.

Outfit #3) Feminine Two-Piece Set

During one of their nights in Capri, Erin and her family had dinner at Restaurant Da Paolino, which is known for its incredible dining under beautiful lemon trees and its famous lemon dessert. Erin wore this Bronx & Banco set that walks the line between sexy and feminine. The top and skirt both have delicate floral lace details, and we love the pretty straps on the top. This set does show some midsection so if that makes you uncomfortable, you could opt for the white Bronx & Banco dress (we’ll link it below). Erin completed the look with wedge sneakers, the same Cinq a Sept white cropped jacket, and white accessories. You could dress it up even more by wearing it with heels or platforms instead. But Erin knew she’d be walking a bit so she ditched the heels and went with the sneakers.

Outfit #4) Chic One-Piece

For a boat day in Capri, Erin grabbed one of her new favorite swimsuits by Staud. She has this swimsuit in two colors and took the white version on her recent trip to Vietnam & China. The cutouts on the sides are super flattering and cheat the waist in, which is always a win with swimwear! The great thing about a one-piece like this is that you have the coverage you need for swimming and other water activities. But you still look so chic and pulled together. On her way to/from the harbor, she wore a pair of lightweight knit pants, metallic Pedro Garcia flats, and a sunhat by Physician Endorsed. Erin recently discovered this brand and really loved this hat. It has a 4” brim and UPF 40+ sun protection!

I am trying to locate the white platform runner in number three outfit category for the island of Capri and I can’t seem to find it anywhere and when I push on that shoe, it brings me to Saks, but I can’t find it
