Meet Kaitlyn
I will tackle the “Corset Trend” in a moment, but first I want to introduce you to a wonderful young woman.
I have been talking about getting an intern for months, maybe even years.
But it’s no easy feat finding someone who really wants to help, and is interested in the not-so-glamorous stuff.
(AKA most of the job).
I happened to mention to some friends that I am looking for help, and I would love to hire someone like their daughter.
Well, fast forward several weeks, and that is exactly what happened.
I hit the intern jackpot…Kaitlyn is smart, sweet, gorgeous and excited to work on everything!
Nordstrom Sale
Kaitlyn will be helping me a lot with The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
She will curate her own favorites from the sale, “Kaitlyn’s Picks.”
And, hopefully we will shoot some styling options for 20-something, versus 40-something!
*Everything you need to know about the Nordstrom sale here.
Download the catalog here, if you didn’t get one already.
Note From Kaitlyn
Hi, everyone!
My name is Kaitlyn and I’m Erin’s new intern.
I’m from a small town in south Texas, and a recent University of Texas grad.
I have always loved fashion, beauty, travel, and home décor.
Friends have always come to me for help with styling outfits and shopping.
I am excited to have the opportunity to help young ladies learn how to dress for their style and budget.
I also want to help them feel confident, timeless, and sophisticated.
(While encouraging their individuality.)
I’m looking forward to helping Erin with my picks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…
And I am super excited to offer picks for women in their 20’s, in addition to Erin’s picks for women 40+.
Corset Trend
Now onto a new (old) trend tracing back to the Victorian era…the corset!
People are actually wearing ‘waist trainers’ today for the same reasons women wore corsets back in the day…
To try and whittle away their waist. You can check one out here.
According to my sources (google), there is little evidence they actually worked, but if you are waist training,

How To Wear the Corset Trend
So, you could go full on corset, and wear one over a tee or top.
Or…you can try a more subtle approach, and wear a corset belt.
You can also pick up a tee or top with built in corset detailing.
Like this balloon sleeve white corset top.
I am really loving these really cool high rise jeans (pictured above).
*These jeans are super soft, more like leggings. Maybe the most comfortable jeans I own.
The corset can create a waist if you don’t already have one.
It can also highlight your curves.
It’s a very sexy and feminine look.
Just tread carefully…

[…] tee post to help!! (You can learn more about the 21-year old, stunning and smart, recent UT grad here.) We love Kaitlyn, and her parents who came to Telluride for a visit this summer…as […]
I’ve heard those waist trainers work to pull in your waist (while wearing them) but that they’re just as bad for women as they were in the 1800’s – they cause your organs to actually move around, giving your lungs less room, so fainting is an actual possibility! I can’t disagree that they look pretty though! Especially with the feminine flow-y top you styled it with – gorgeous!
And nice to meet you Kaitlyn!

Thank you SO much, Cathy! I feel the same way about you. How do YOU do it???? xoxo
I think Erin is going to be a great add! Welcome!
