What is a Boyfriend Blazer?
You might be wondering… what IS a Boyfriend Blazer exactly? Well, anything with boyfriend in the name, like boyfriend jeans or boyfriend blazers, are inspired by mens’ garments. They are meant to be oversized and create the look that you just borrowed your jeans or your blazer from your boyfriend. The Boyfriend Blazer is definitely oversized but if you make the right, strategic buy, they are still tailored to flatter your body. The hemline is longer, and the blazers have a more casual feel than a traditional blazer. I think Boyfriend Blazers look amazing in so many outfit combinations: dresses, skirts, and jeans! See how I styled it with jeans below…
Alice + Olivia Boyfriend Blazer
This Boyfriend Blazer by Alice + Olivia is a beautiful poppy color, has peaked lapels, an open front, sleeves that can easily be rolled or scrunched, and high-quality fabric for durability and comfort! It’s an easy layering piece for your spring wardrobe whether you’re headed into the office or out for Saturday brunch with friends. Even though it’s such a vibrant color, it’s a versatile piece you can incorporate into your casual everyday style a lot easier than you think! It runs TTS and I’m wearing a 2.

Boyfriend Blazer with Jeans
Styling any kind of blazer with jeans is a go-to style uniform for me. When you swap your basic tailored blazer for a more relaxed boyfriend blazer, you take the “cool-factor” up a notch. This is a REALLY simple way to look more modern and current. I styled my blazer with a pair of distressed, relaxed-fit jeans by AG. They’re a high-rise (11.5”) slim straight-leg silhouette which means they’re roomier throughout the leg but not so baggy that you lose shape.
Under the blazer, I’m wearing a long sleeve tee by Free People that has ruched sleeves. It’s a great, not-so-basic, basic. You could also wear a v-neck tee, short sleeve tee, or another classic white blouse.
Tip: If you’re planning to wear relaxed jeans with the blazer, keep the top underneath more streamlined so you don’t add bulk.
To finish off the look I’m wearing some modern flat-top sunglasses, my Bottega Veneta chain cassette bag, and white Jeffrey Campbell slingbacks. These slingbacks are so chic and cool. I love white shoes in the summer. This was the first time I wore them and they do need some breaking in (cut slightly in at the top of my foot) but these will be great with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses this summer! If you’re interested in more cute summer accessories, then you should check out this post.
Sizing: everything runs true to size. I’m wearing a 26 in the jeans and 7.5 in the sandals.
