Ladylike Shoes
First, let’s talk shoes! We love adding a chic new pair of shoes to our closet each year. And the best part? Your shoe size never changes… So you don’t have to worry about their longevity in your wardrobe. For fall and winter, we’re seeing lots of “ladylike” shoes. Think kitten heels, slingbacks, mary janes, pointed-toe heels and flats, etc. We’re also seeing ladylike details like two-toned, prints, and textures. We love this trend because if you find a really good pair of ladylike shoes, they never go out of style. This is one of those classic, elegant “trends” you’ll wear for years and years.
We linked a few of our favorite picks below in case you’re ready to step into this trend (pun intended). But the simplest way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe is with a classic pair of pointed-toe kitten heel slingbacks like the pair Erin is wearing above.
Belts Galore
We’re SO happy belts are back and better than ever this year! Belts are the perfect addition to any outfit and can really elevate a look. Plus, they can help define your waist and make an outfit even more flattering. We’re seeing lots of belt options out there so you can find something that really speaks to you. Opt for a classic leather belt if you don’t already have one. But if you’re looking for something trendier, we’re seeing low-slung belts, statement belts, metallic belts, double belts, western-inspired belts, belts with unique buckles…you get the idea! If you see a cool belt that you love and really want to try, this is the time! Erin’s wearing a Dior belt she bought last year and has worn a ton!
Hats, Hats & More Hats!
If you love to rock a hat, this one’s for you! Erin loves throwing a hat on to add a cool factor to an outfit and really pull it all together. This season, we’re seeing everything from berets to beanies to newsboy hats to baseball caps, bucket hats, and more. We’re also seeing head scarves and headwear with embellishments. Basically anything goes! But if you want to try the hat trend in an easy, accessible way, try a classic felt hat in a neutral color. Erin’s wearing a chic white beret in the photo above but we linked more favorites in different styles below.
Wondering how to wear a hat without looking like you’re trying too hard?
Cuff It
Next up, cuffs! Cuffs, bangles, and statement bracelets are huge this fall and winter. The bigger the bracelet, the better. We love this trend as a way to add some impact to your outfits without going overboard. It’s also a super affordable trend to try. Another sub-category of this trend is bags with chain or bracelet-like handles, so it looks like you’re wearing a bracelet while you’re carrying your bag. One example is this Valentino bag that Erin took to Italy. We linked some more bracelets that are affordable and easy to add to your fall looks below.
Extra Texture
The last trend we want to highlight is…texture! We’re seeing fringe, fuzzy, faux fur, studded, embellished accessories everywhere. Studded bags, fuzzy scarves, feathery shoes, and fringe everything. This might seem like it’s not the most wearable trend but if it’s something you love, you definitely can! We recommend grabbing a fringe scarf or a cool textured bag if you’re interested in trying it out. The bag Erin’s wearing above is a cool studded bag by AllSaints she just got and loves.
