How To Wear The Popular Utility Fashion Trend

The utility fashion trend started last fall and has been going strong ever since! It’s a cool modern clothing trend that I love and I’ve bought multiple pieces! Below, you’ll find some of my favorite utility trend styles. I bought a few for our canceled trip to Africa but loved them so much that I decided to keep them! You can see more of what I would have packed for Africa in my African Safari Packing List post

What Is The Utility Fashion Trend?

#1 | Green Romper

This green romper by Pistola is the perfect example of the utility fashion trend. I love the buttons down the front, on the sides, and the pockets! The longer inseam (5”) is age-appropriate so no need to worry about it being too short! If you love rompers/jumpsuits, this is one easy way to wear the utility trend!

#2 | James Perse Joggers

The easiest way to wear the trend is with some cool pants. These green James Perse joggers are amazing and crazy comfy! I wore them in my video with tips on how to look stylish at home. They’re a little pricey so I linked a very similar pair for only $35!  These joggers are also featured in our Spring Shop.

#4 | Derek Lam Pants

I LOVE these Derek Lam pants! They are high-rise, have ruching on the sides and have cool zippers.  They’re a great alternative to denim and can be dressed up or styled more casually like I have done here.  You can see them in my WFH outfits post here.

#5 | A.L.C. Dress

I featured this gorgeous A.L.C. dress in my my African Safari Packing List post. It’s pretty versatile, a beautiful tan color, has a flattering belted waist, and the length is perfect (I’m 5’4” for reference). This is a very elegant example of the utility trend!
