#1) Free People Bodysuit

This first fall staple is actually really more of an all-season piece that I wear on repeat. So much so that I own it in multiple colors! It’s a Free People bodysuit that I’ve worn for years. Super lightweight, comfortable, and flattering…what more could you ask for? It’s completely open in the front but the way the fabric sits isn’t too revealing. You can wear a regular bra or a cami if that makes you more comfortable. The surplice, v-neckline and slightly padded shoulders create a flattering look on most body types. I love styling it with denim, but you can also wear it with skirts, pants, and trousers. Since it is so lightweight, you can easily throw a jacket or coat over it without having to worry about bulky sleeves. And, it comes in 11 colors!

#2) Stuart Weitzman Sock Booties

If you’ve been following along on the blog or Instagram for a while, these Stuart Weitzman sock booties might look familiar. I’ve been wearing them non-stop for fall/winter for multiple seasons now. Unlike a regular, structured bootie, sock booties cling to your leg so they work beautifully under pants and jeans but also create a streamlined look with dresses and skirts. Last year I remember hearing that sock booties were on their way “out” but I’m SO happy that was not the case because they’re an essential wardrobe staple I don’t want to live without! They have held up really well and are more comfortable than you’d think (for heels).

#3) L’Agence Lace Cuff Blouse

This gorgeous white blouse by L’Agence is what I’d call an elevated staple. It has the most beautiful lace cuffs, covered buttons, and a flattering v-neckline. It also has a rounded shirttail hem so if you don’t want to tuck it in, it won’t look too boxy. It’s very lightweight and you can control how many buttons you want to keep open, making it both office, every day, and date-night appropriate. You don’t need to save it for a dressy occasion!  Wear it with jeans for a really elevated and put-together look. It also comes in black and a pretty toffee color. It fits true to size.

#4) Pistola Cable Knit Sweater

A cable-knit sweater is a must-have for fall and this one is such a good basic! It’s 100% cotton so it’s very breathable and it has the prettiest cable knit and ribbed detailing. You can wear this sweater with jeans, joggers, and skirts this fall…it’s so versatile. It runs true to size and has a cropped, boxy fit. But it’s not TOO cropped so you can easily front-tuck it into your bottoms if you prefer to style it that way. I’m wearing it here with pleated trousers and espadrille sneakers for a cool mom-on-the-go look. What do you think of trousers and sneakers? I’m really loving this combo!!

Mother Flared Jeans

#5) Mother Flared Jeans

Every fall wardrobe needs a versatile pair of jeans. I wanted to share a pair with you that’s on-trend but not overly “trendy”. Wide-leg jeans are one of the easier jean trends to try. They have become increasingly popular over the past ~3 years and I LOVE them! They are just so flattering. Longer, wide-leg jeans with heels can make your legs look a mile long. I’m wearing a pair of wide-leg jeans by Mother. These are some of my favorite jeans and I have them in multiple washes and versions (with a frayed hem, cropped, etc.). To get the most wear out of your jeans, I highly recommend this updated silhouette in a medium to dark wash. That way you can dress them up with booties or heels or dress them down with sneakers for a very chic and classic fall look.
