The 5 Vacation Outfits Worth Every Inch of Suitcase Space

You planned every detail of that special upcoming trip. I planned your special outfits. Now, all you have to do is add them to your suitcase.

Here’s the thing — what you wear on vacation really matters. You spend so much time planning the flights, the hotel, the itinerary. And then you get there and spend the whole trip feeling self-conscious or uncomfortable in your clothes. That feeling can quietly color the entire experience.

So I did the work for you. No pouring over hundreds of pages of options online. No second-guessing. Just five outfits that are lightweight, packable, and make you feel as incredible as the trip itself.

#1 – Flattering Metallic Mini

This Acler metallic mini dress is the kind of piece that makes you stop mid-scroll.

What makes this dress so special is the silhouette. A high neckline and sleeves on a mini dress — that’s an unusual combination. The overall shape is elegant and feminine rather than overtly sexy, which means you can wear it to dinner, on a cruise, anywhere on the trip that calls for something a little special. The ruching defines the waist and smooths the tummy in such an effortless way.

And if you’re petite, this dress was made for you — the proportions are perfect.

#2 – Classic Color Combination

This Reformation off the shoulder top has been in my rotation for a while now — and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. That off the shoulder neckline is so flattering and feminine, it works for date night, dinners out, and it absolutely works for a resort vacation. I paired it with this black and white midi skirt and instantly had the most effortless, polished resort outfit. The kind you throw on without thinking and somehow look like you really thought about it. Those are always the best ones.

I paired these with the Otelia Espadrille Wedge Sandal — one of the MVPs of this trip. I literally could wear them with every outfit, but mostly I wore flats to preserve my feet. The metallic color is what makes them so versatile. This brand is an investment but for the quality and comfort factors, SO worth it…especially if you’re only packing 3 pairs of shoes.

#3 – Spot On Style

Okay, this polka dot blouse and matching mesh skirt — I felt absolutely incredible in this outfit. Like, actually ask my husband to take a photo incredible (a rare occasion.) Polka dots are having a major moment in fashion right now, but it’s also a timeless print that never actually goes out of style.

The ruching around the tummy is so incredibly flattering and does all the right things for your silhouette, and that mesh fabric? SO lightweight and resort-y… perfect for vacation (or for summer). I felt confident, chic, and very comfortable in this outfit. Try not to get frustrated putting on the top. Once you get it, you get it and you’ll reach for this set again and again.

#4 – Pucci-Inspired Set for Less

This matching two-piece set is everything you want in a vacation outfit. The print is bold, lively, and a total head turner.

It’s also incredibly practical. Wrinkle resistant, lightweight, and takes up almost no room in your suitcase. You’ll pull it out, put it on, and look like you spent an hour getting ready.

The wide-leg pants elongate the legs, and that halter scarf-style top — very similar to last summer’s must-have Pucci top — ties at the neck and back, sexy and chic. The fabric creates beautiful movement whether you’re wearing it during the day or to dinner.

Available in regular, petite, and plus sizes. The top is $78, the pants are $98 — well under $200 for a standout outfit that looks so much more expensive.

Because no tropical vacation is complete without the perfect swimsuit — these ones are sexy and flattering.

#5 – Made for Somewhere Special

This Poupette St Barth dress is all about the details. That gold halter hardware is so gorgeous and unexpected, the cutouts are beautifully placed and incredibly flattering, and the cinched waist creates the most beautiful shape. Then there’s that low back — so effortlessly resort and just the right amount of show-stopping. And this dress even has pockets!

This is the kind of dress you save for somewhere truly special. And then wear on repeat is there a fish over there?.
