A couple of weeks ago, we shared a For Less Friday post with tops under $65 and you all seemed to really love it! So, if you’re all set with your summer tops for every day, you might be needing some going-out tops too. Tops for girls’ night out, concerts, special dinners, date night, or really any occasion for which you just want to look a little “extra”. We found some sexy but not over-the-top options that put a little magic in the outfit formula secret sauce. These can be worn with jeans and heels to complete your summer evening look!

Standout Sexy Tops
When you hear the phrase “sexy tops” you might immediately assume this means showing a ton of skin. It can be, but…that doesn’t have to be the case. You can look sexy AND sophisticated in your going out tops. Here are a few features you can look for to dial things up for a special night out.
- Fabric – A silky, satin, or luxe fabric is one way to upgrade your look for the evening. Even just a silky button-down for the office can transform into the perfect GNO top with a few buttons unbuttoned and a lacy bralette peeking through. Embellishments, metallics, and lace will also dial things up.
- Color – Black is always a sexy color to wear but pops of bright pink, green, blue, and even white can be equally as striking!
- Cutouts – We all know showing a little skin turns up the sex factor. But you can be strategic about it. Cutouts at the shoulder, below the rib cage, and at the décolleté can all be super sexy. And of course, plunging necklines and off-the-shoulder tops, like the one Erin’s wearing above, are great for adding a splash of sexy too.
- Strapless – Bustier and strapless tops are…sexy! But if that feels like too much, drape a blazer or jacket over your shoulders…also sexy!
- Fit – A form-fitting top can no doubt be extra saucy, but you don’t have to wear a skin-tight top to dial up the glitz and glam. A body-skimming top that fits and flatters your shape and assets can be just as cool.

Affordable Going Out Tops Under $100
First up is this chic grid top from Anthropologie. Sheer styles are one of the hottest summer trends and this top is an accessible way to wear the trend…it’s so pretty, has a mock neck, and a tie in the back. This top is one that you could easily wear to the office with a pair of trousers like Erin is wearing here but then swap those for some denim for a girl’s night out, or black pants and sexy heels for date night. You can also wear a tank or cami with more or minimal coverage underneath the blouse depending on the occasion and your comfort level.
