What Are The Colors To Wear This Fall
Burgundy
Burgundy is such a classic fall color to have in your wardrobe. But right now, it’s extremely on-trend! It’s one of those seasonal colors that looks so good on everyone too. There are so many beautiful shades of burgundy and we’re even seeing lots of reds and dark purple popping up. If burgundy is one of your favorites in the fall color palette, consider trying an all-burgundy look like Erin did. If it’s not your favorite, keep it simple by adding a pair of burgundy sunglasses, shoes, or a bag. Or throw on a burgundy sweater with jeans for an easy way to try the trend.
Olive Green
Next up is olive green! Really, most green shades for fall will work. But we especially love olive or emerald green. Green is an easy color to wear because it looks good on so many different skin tones. Erin loves to wear olive green but has found that any olive greens that have more yellow in them will make her look ill. If you see an olive green piece you like, hold it up to your face and decide if it lights you up or makes you look sick…easy peasy! If you don’t already have something olive green in your closet but still want to try the trend, consider adding an olive green sweater, dress, or even a jacket to your closet this fall. It’s one of those colors that’s so easy to style and versatile that it functions as a neutral.
Espresso Brown
Chocolate brown, espresso brown…whatever you prefer to call it…it’s BIG this fall! We love the richness and earthiness of dark, deep browns but we’re seeing all shades of brown this fall, ranging from cool to warm tones. Brown is a great neutral color that can replace black in your wardrobe if you’re looking to switch it up this fall. If dark brown isn’t for you, try camel, khaki, tan, beige, rust brown, or a different shade of brown. You really can’t go wrong when incorporating brown into your fall outfits!
Warm Ivory
When you think of fall, you might not think about white or ivory. But it’s such a beautiful way to lighten up and breathe life into your fall wardrobe if you typically gravitate toward darker hues during the cooler months. And, it’s on-trend right now! Instead of bright white, consider adding some warmer ivory tones with a pair of off-white or ivory jeans, a chic ivory sweater, an ivory sweater dress, or even a beautiful ivory coat. You could even wear an all-ivory outfit (just make sure to mix and match textures and tones).
Navy Blue
Navy is another neutral that’s been an option for years but is much more popular now! We know that some women tend to shy away from wearing black because they fear it’s too harsh and ages them. In that case, navy is such a perfect alternative. It’s classic, timeless, and easy to style with other neutrals like white, ivory, beige, gray, and even black (yep, you can wear navy and black together!). If navy isn’t your favorite, don’t worry…most shades of blue are considered on-trend right now. We love sapphire blue and cobalt blue too! If you want to try navy this fall, grab a navy blazer or coat, a navy pair of pants, or a navy sweater. Any wardrobe basics in these “trendy” colors will be so easy to style and remain versatile wardrobe workhorses that you will wear for years.

Bonus: Mustard
We’re including the color mustard as a bonus because while it is on-trend, it can be tricky to wear. If you wear mustard all the time and love it, amazing! If you don’t already have a mustard piece you love, it can be difficult to find the right shade of mustard…but not impossible! When in doubt, hold the piece up to your face and decide if it makes your face look bright and happy, or dull and sad. Erin tends to avoid colors like mustard but we know that it will work for some of you! We love the idea of adding a mustard-colored sweater to your wardrobe to easily style with jeans. But you could also try a mustard-colored skirt, a dress for a special occasion, or a pair of cool pants.
What Colors Not To Wear This Fall
Neon
We’re never going to tell you not to wear something, especially if you really love it! It’s important to wear what makes YOU feel happy and excited. But if we had to choose one color (or color genre) that we tend to shy away from during the fall and winter months, it’s neons. When we think about neon pinks, yellow, green, etc., we don’t think about fall.
