Designer-Inspired Spring Shoe Trends
Before we get into 3 of our favorite designer-inspired spring shoe trends, we wanted to share an overarching list of modern details that are all very on-trend this season. If you want to turn up the volume on your shoe game this spring, here are a few things to be on the lookout for…
- Pointed Toe Styles
- Denim
- Embellishments
- Buckles & Bows
- Patent Leather
- Bright Shades
- Loafers
- Mary Janes
- Strappy Styles
- Kitten Heels
- Platforms
Slingbacks Shoe Trend
Slingbacks have been popular in previous seasons and continue to gain momentum. They were all over the runway during NY Fashion Week last month! They typically have a pointed toe, and the heel height can range from completely flat to kitten heels to sky-high. So, there’s something for everyone with this trend. If you have slim ankles and slingbacks tend to slip off the back of your foot, make sure you look for a pair with an adjustable buckle back or an elasticized stretchy back.
Above, Erin is wearing a pair of gorgeous Dior slingbacks that she grabbed while in Paris last year for Paris Fashion Week. (If you’re interested, you can read about her trip here.) You can create this same chic look with more budget-friendly options. Slingbacks are an on-trend way to dress up your favorite jeans, shorts, work outfits, and even gowns depending on the style you choose. Here are some of our affordable favorites…

Metallic Shoe Trend
Our next wearable shoe trend is metallics. What we love most about them is that they come in all shapes and sizes. From sneakers to stilettos. A metallic shoe is such a fun and modern way to dress up a basic jeans and button-down, an all-black or monochromatic outfit, or an event dress. We’ve seen metallic shoes this spring from designers like Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Balmain, and Zimmerman…But, we wanted to share some affordable options that will give you that same chic and edgy look. If a full metallic shoe seems a bit too over the top for you, you can try a shoe with a metallic heel or metallic embellishments instead!

Mesh Shoe Trend
And finally, our last fun spring shoe trend is…mesh. We started to see mesh shoes make a debut a few seasons back with high-end designers like Fendi, Dior, and Gucci but, as trends tend to do…they trickle down to more affordable, everyday brands. And now mesh shoes are accessible at every price point. Mesh ballet flats, heels, fishnet heels…so many options. You can freshen up your wardrobe by replacing a basic pair of heels or flats with a mesh pair and it’s just undeniably chic. And while mesh and sheer fabrics are having a moment in clothing too, showing a little toe might seem less daunting than baring other body parts! ?

Your blog posts are incredibly helpful! Can you please do a post about sneakers with the best height increase for us shorties. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your sweet words, Serenity! Great idea… Here’s two of my favorites for platform sneakers, one designer pair, and a similar style for less. I have (and love) both of these! They’re a great height, manageable yet helps you feel taller and perfect for jeans, dresses, shorts, you name it. ~Erin xo
