The minute you throw in an ‘over 40’ in your blog title …women are ready to pounce!
Don’t believe me? Check out the comments on this “How to Wear Shorts Over 40” video
OR “How to Dress Appropriately For Your Age.”
NO ONE wants to be told you can’t wear this or that.
And, the good news is… I’m saying the OPPOSITE in this post…
“Wear a swimsuit you feel comfortable and confident in…to look your best!”
I am excited to partner with Nordstrom to show you some wonderful swimsuit options!
Keep scrolling to see the suits I picked, and the “Essential Swimsuit Fit Guide.”
It’s packed with styling tips!
Option #1 | Sexy One-Piece
One of my favorite Instagram handle’s is…”Not Dead Yet.”
Isn’t that hilarious? I just love it!!
Annddd, it’s SO true.
Just cause you’re getting older, doesn’t mean you can’t rock some sexy pieces!!
This Becca suit above is one example.
It’s SEXY from the front AND back, but still covers all your parts.
It’s also chic and sophisticated.
…Cause there is a fine line, right? 😉
And, most importantly…I can still be a mom in it!

#2 | ‘Not-So-Basic’ Black One-Piece
This is another Becca suit!
As you can see it’s really elegant and sexy too.
These suits are simple, but with really interesting, thoughtful details… that make them special.
I also love how this one above defines your waist with the crochet and black panel.
I have some trouble with one-pieces because for some odd reason…
Even though I’m petite… I have a very long torso.
Because of that fit issue, I order size medium, versus small.
I would say in general you should size UP, one full size on most swimwear.

There are a couple of lines I LOVE for my over 40 ladies:
Both of these lines offer the perfect mix of fashion and function!
They are sexy, but tasteful.
Don’t forget your sunscreen to be sun safe, and avoid funky tan lines.

Option #3 | Push Up, Striped Bikini
This striped bikini by Robin Piccone (another line I love) is ideal for small busted women.
The top pushes up the girls, and creates the illusion of a larger bust.
The suit also has more coverage on the back side.
If you have tried on a thousand bikinis and suits like I have…
You know there are SO many with little to NO coverage on your bum.
I don’t know about you, but I want that junk in my trunk covered up!
BTW, how cool are these pants? LOVE these!
Bikinis Over 40
I actually prefer wearing bikinis…
WHY? Because I simply think they are more flattering on MY body.
I have almost no waist and a long torso… so it’s tough for me to find one-pieces that fit well.
For me, the bikini adds definition to my waist.
Plus, I feel sexier in them.
Which, is pretty priceless at any age.

Option #4 | Halter Bikini
Another Becca suit…
This one is in one of my favorite colors…peach!
Like the striped bikini striped bikini above, it offers more coverage.
My backside feels comfortable, and covered.
The girls are covered.
The halter neckline of this top would be great if you have broader shoulders.

Do I have sagging skin on my tummy from popping out two kids at 35, and 38??
Otherwise known as AMA or Advanced Maternal Age.
Yup. I sure do.
Skin laxity? Check.
Slight bat wings. You bet.
BUT… I feel most comfortable and confident wearing bikinis.
So, I try not to focus on the bad, and just be happy I’m not scaring small children.
(And I would know… cause they would tell me! ;)
