High Coverage Swimsuits
Bust Coverage – Staud Dolce One Piece With Cutouts
Sometimes you just don’t want to let it all hang out. Anyone who has spent a day swimming at the beach, doing water sports at the lake, or taking on a waterslide in a bikini knows this firsthand. Your swimwear needs to suit your activities, body type, and comfort level but you don’t need to sacrifice style to get the whole enchilada. Take this one-piece cutout suit by Staud. How chic, right? Erin loved it so much she bought it in white and black. It also comes in a few other colors that we’ll link below. It has a high, modest neckline, thick supportive straps, and a stretched ribbed fabric. And the side cutouts add a bit of sexiness. And if you’re not a fan of cheeky styles, there’s good coverage for your bottom as well.
Tummy Coverage – Staud Sandnes One Piece
Erin brought this Staud one-piece to Italy on a recent trip with her family. Family beach days have a different vibe than a couple’s beach day so she appreciated the added coverage this one-piece offers. Yet, it’s still SO stylish. It does have a plunging halter neckline so it might not work for you if you have a large bust, but the waist and tummy area are fully covered and the legs have more of a boy short cut. The coverage in the back is a little cheeky so that’s a consideration. If you prefer full coverage in the back, this is not the suit for you.

Arm Coverage – Robin Piccone Snap Front One Piece
We just love how versatile this one piece is. You have the capped sleeves that offer a bit more coverage than your average tank or strapless one piece. But you also have the flattering v-neck with snap closures and an open back that adds a touch of sexy. The leg cut is classic and there is moderate bottom coverage. This comes in 5 other colors too.

Strategic Coverage – Becca One Piece
Another attribute you can look for in swimsuits that will give you coverage while still looking on-trend and modern is mesh details. Not to mention, when strategically placed, mesh paneling can also be VERY flattering. Case in point this sheer mesh inlet suit from Becca. This exact suit is from a few years ago, but Becca comes out with similar renditions and new colors every year. It’s lined in all the right places so you kind of get the same sexy effect as a cutout, but you aren’t actually exposing your skin. The vertical lines in this suit also help create an hourglass figure.
Tummy & Hips Coverage – Norma Kamali Ruched Halter One Piece
This photo of Erin is another from the archives but this Norma Kamali swimsuit is still a hit year after year. The suit would be great for someone looking for coverage in the tummy and hip area. The sheer overlay and ruching details across the front and back help conceal any areas you might want to keep under wraps. This is a very chic and elegant swimsuit that gives a sophisticated vintage-inspired vibe. We’ll link a few more options by Norma Kamali below.

Bum & Arm Coverage – Staud Swim Skirt and Top
Now that we’ve featured a few one-piece swimsuits, we wanted to share some 2-piece options too. First up is another suit by Staud. This swim skirt will definitely provide added coverage in the tummy, hips, thighs, and bum. And the matching short-sleeved top gives you extra coverage at the arms and chest. Erin wore this sporty 2-piece for a few different trips this spring/summer and felt very secure and confident while swimming and doing other water activities.

Tummy Coverage – Becca High Waisted Bikini Bottoms
This bikini is actually not a set in the traditional sense because the bottoms are by Becca and the top is by Trina Turk. Erin has owned these flattering high-waisted bottoms for years and has paired them with several different bikini tops. Because they are very high-waisted and have ruching, they provide great tummy coverage while also smoothing and shaping.

Booty Coverage – Spanx Pique Swim Skirt & Bikini Top
These next 3 suits all have ample booty coverage. Cheeky styles are very on-trend right now but if you prefer to keep your cheeks covered, we wanted to share a few options you can try. This high-rise swim skirt from Spanx offers a ton of booty coverage. The matching slip-on top has no ties or clasps so it would be great for very active days in the water.
Free People Heidi One Piece
This next swimsuit by Free People is both flattering and functional. It has a high neckline, adjustable waist tie, and full bottom coverage. Erin purchased this one-piece suit for a recent river rafting trip (more on that soon!) and really appreciated the added coverage and sun protection it provided. She hasn’t had a chance to share any images yet, but just trust us, it was great for all of her water activities.
High Neck Miraclesuit
Miraclesuit is a trusted brand for women of all shapes and sizes. This high neck halter one piece has modern cutout detail at the neck, ruching at the waist, full bottom coverage, and also slims and sculpts. Shop more Miracle Suits here.
How To Style High Coverage Swimsuits
Now that we’ve shared several high coverage swimsuit options, let’s dive into how to style them!
Tip #1) Wear Cover Up Shorts
Wear a pair of light cotton, gauzy, mesh, or crochet coverup shorts over your swimsuit if you want a bit more coverage while lounging, boating, or walking to/from a poolside or seaside lunch. You can also throw on a gauzy, breathable cotton top for even more sun protection.
Tip #2) Wear Cover Up Pants
If you prefer even more coverage, you could also wear a pair of coverup pants. Lightweight and moisture-wicking fabrics are going to keep you covered without making you too hot. Grab a chic pair of sandals and your beach tote and you’re good to go.
Tip #3) Try a Long Breezy Coverup
Erin packed this beautiful Devon Windsor coverup for her recent trip to Italy and while the fabric is sheer, the added length offered some sun protection and coverage. She styled it here with some platform sandals for an extra glam poolside look.
Tip #5) Wear a Short Coverup or Dress
You can find many short coverups ranging from super sheer to full coverage depending on how much skin you want to show. You can also wear a light cotton sundress over your swimsuit to achieve the same effect.
Tip #6) Wear a Maxi Skirt or Sarong
Finally, if you are searching for coverage on your lower half, you can always try wearing a chic maxi skirt coverup or a sarong over your swimsuit. Sarongs are great to throw on when you need a quick something to grab while walking around at the pool or beach.

Oh, the Norma Kamali white suit is gorgeous! I can’t see wearing it to swim…
Isn’t it beautiful?? We love it too! Erin swam in the suit at the beach and didn’t have any issues, but it would also be a great option for simply lounging by the pool or at a resort! Hope you have a great week! ~Team Busbee
