At the beginning of each season, we share our favorite fashion trends we’re seeing on the runways and in street style. Right now, we’re at that weird in-between phase where we’re ready for fall but still experiencing summer temps. Well, some of the trends we shared in this post back in March are still going strong and Erin’s rocking them into fall. See how Erin’s still wearing some of our favorite summer trends below.
By the way, we’ll be updating that same post with fall/winter trends in the next few weeks so stay tuned…

Summer 2024 Fashion Trends Still Going Strong
#1) Sheer White Dresses
A little white dress can be worn during any season, but the fabric, silhouette, and style just might change. For example, during spring/summer, you might wear a lace mini or midi dress. But during the fall or winter you might wear a maxi sweater dress. In the looks above, Erin’s wearing a matching lace set (left) and a lace dress (right) both by Bronx & Banco. To transition these to fall, she’s adding a white jacket and white sneakers or booties. The all-white monochrome look is so chic and a great way to keep your wardrobe light while everyone else is shifting to darker fall hues. We’re linking a few white dresses below that will work now and into fall.
#2) Sculptural Volumes
The sculptural volumes trend took basic puff shoulders, sleeves, peplums, etc., and really amplified it. This trend is about being bold and wearing super-exaggerated styles. The Cult Gaia dress Erin is wearing above is a great example. We love the fabulous oversized sleeves! For summer, Erin styled it with raffia platforms, a raffia bag, pearl statement earrings, and white sunglasses. For fall, she’ll swap the raffia bag for a sleek leather clutch and the shoes for a light neutral suede bootie, mule, or slingback shoe. We know this dress might be a little out of your comfort zone so we’re linking even more wearable options below.
#3) Color Trend: Black & White
There is no color combination more classic than black and white! Do you agree?? The two colors combined are just so timeless, chic, and sophisticated. They are always “in”, but this summer we saw them the color combo soar in popularity. The wonderful thing about this “trend” is that it’s SO easy to wear and you likely already have pieces in your closet to try it out. In this look, Erin’s wearing a super flattering pair of white Reiss pants that have a cool, slimming black stripe down the side. She paired the pants with a black Cult Gaia top that’s unexpected and chic. For fall, you can still wear the pants but style them with a sweater instead. Or wear your favorite black wide-leg pants and a white or ivory sweater. Really, the possibilities are endless!
#4) Polka Dots
Polka dots have been a trend since the fall of last year and it looks like they are sticking around for a while! You can stick with classic black and white polka dots or take it a step further with red polka dots, which are super popular in street style (versus runway). Erin prefers the classic black and white polka dots and is wearing this gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana midi dress. But you can easily add this trend to your wardrobe at any price point. We linked a few favorites for you below.
#5) All Things Feminine
Bows, tulle, ruffles, floral prints, lace, and rosettes…oh my! Yes, feminine styles are IN and aren’t going anywhere. In this look, Erin’s wearing a pink tweed mini dress by Cinq a Sept. We love the white trim details, tweed fabric, and luxe gold buttons. It is a very “summery” dress, but for fall she can style it with a white jacket and neutral booties. If feminine is your style type, we’re linking a few more faves below that will transition into fall.
