Have you ever thought about what it would be like to own your own business? In honor of Women’s History Month, we wanted to highlight a few female entrepreneurs we admire who are killing it in their professional space. As if being a woman and mom isn’t challenging enough, being a mom who is also an entrepreneur is seriously next level! We take our hats off to these amazing momtrepreneurs! Many started with fulfilling careers, but ones that didn’t allow them the time they craved for their families. These moms appear to be expert jugglers and we’re thrilled to support them!
Speaking of amazing women…in case you missed it, be sure to check out Erin’s interview with LTK President and Co-Founder Amber Venz Box, here. It’s so inspiring!
#1) Susan Yara
Susan Yara is your skincare mom! She’s a journalist/reporter, turned beauty influencer turned successful business owner of Naturium Skincare. Oh, and she’s a mom to her adorable little boy too! Naturium is a clean skincare product line that is thoughtfully formulated and affordable. Susan’s YouTube videos are not only informative and scientific, but she’s incredibly relatable, engaging and knowledgeable. Her makeup shorts on IG are some of my absolute favorites. She’s tackling the influencer space and her beauty empire looking gorgeous and confident every step of the way.
#2) Natalie Eckdahl
Natalie is the founder of the BizChix podcast which is a Team Busbee favorite! She inspires women business owners, coaching them to build profitable businesses and adapt their careers to their own family life and individual priorities. She came into entrepreneurship looking to gain control of her time. As a busy mom of 3, she believed there was a way to attend her daughter’s dance competitions and volunteer in her son’s class all while building her career aspirations of empowering other working women. Her strategic business guidance has helped women build the life/work balance of their dreams. You can check out her podcast here!
#3) Lenise Williams
Lenise is an attorney turned entrepreneur, mother of two, and founder of .made Leather Co., a luxury leather goods brand. After being invited to speak at a United Nations conference in Marrakech (impressed yet?), she fell in love with the leather goods and tanneries there and so began her journey to create products handcrafted by talented Moroccan artisans. Her passion project became widely successful when her bags caught the eye of several NFL players. From that point, the media buzz ensued and her success sky-rocketed.
#4) Susie Wright
Thanks to the power of social media, there are endless options for today’s aspiring momtrepreneur. Influencer marketing isn’t necessarily just a side-hustle. It’s a serious career with executive-level decisions and opportunities. Susie Wright knows this firsthand! She’s an Oregon-based, former Nordstrom buyer and personal stylist who now puts all her knowledge and style passion into her blog, So Susie. This mom of 3 is a frequent contributor on the Who What Wear blog, providing her style expertise for women 40+. She’s nailing the reels game with her outfit inspo, and her infectious smile is incredibly contagious!
#5) Jaclyn James
Jaclyn started her IG account 3 years ago with a homemade logo. Fast forward to 2022, she’s the President of Jacklyn James Company with her own lines of home interiors and coffee. She’s a self-proclaimed jeans and t-shirt with fancy shoes kind of gal, but make no mistake, she means business! This momtrepreneur blogger shares home content, cooks, bakes and makes the most amazing coffee videos! Spending time with her on IG makes you feel like you’re having a great (albeit one-sided) chat with a friend!
This mom of 2 (with +1 on the way) was working in the corporate marketing industry when she decided a change was in order. She wanted to pursue an exciting career that allowed her flexibility to be with her family and…she did just that. Through her blog, Everyday Glam Guide, she inspires women (especially fellow moms) with her easy and affordable beauty and style tips. She also offers social media marketing and business coaching services to women looking to take their business dreams to the next level.
#7) Beth Djalali
After staying home for 20+ years to raise her 3 boys, Beth of Style At A Certain Age had some inhibitions about re-entering the workforce. She started by posting her outfits of the day on IG and using her blog as a platform dedicated to style inspo, and aging with grace, strength and beauty. Now, this Georgia-based influencer has over 240K IG followers and hasn’t looked back, proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams and do what you love.
#8) Lisa Druxman
Lisa Druxman, a fitness expert, created an exercise routine called Stroller Strides for new moms after becoming a mom in 2001. Her company, Fit4Mom, is now a successful fitness franchise with multiple programs and strategies tailored to women at all stages in their mom lives and fitness journey. Lisa’s programs are a fabulous (and non-intimidating!) resource for moms looking to get and stay fit. But that’s not all. Through the franchise opportunity, Fit4Mom empowers women to start their OWN careers. And…she’s also a nationally recognized speaker and author! You can listen to her podcast, The Empowered Mama, here. She’s a mom helping other moms and I admire that so much!
