A Luxe Sweater and Jeans Look For Less That You’re Sure To Love – For Less Friday

Look For Less Outfit

One request and comment we get pretty frequently is to share more budget-friendly style items. While we always try to link “for less” options in all our posts when we can, we’ve decided to take this one step further! We created this new series, For Less Friday.  Each Friday we’ll take one of Erin’s outfits and then recreate her look with items that are a bit more budget-friendly. Still stylish, on-trend, and chic? Yep, yep and yep!  Just at a more affordable price point. And, today’s look…well it’s one of our favorites and SO wearable! It’s a versatile luxe sweater and jeans look (for less) that’s perfect for a night out, lunch with friends, or just whenever you feel like looking super stylish.

Affordable Styles

Let’s first talk about what type of affordable picks we’ll be focused on for this series. We’re darn right certain we could find look-a-likes for many of Erin’s pieces at REALLY discounted prices. But we’d rather recommend brands we’re familiar with from retailers we frequently shop, and that have great shipping and return policies. When it comes down to it, we don’t want to recommend something that will fall apart in the wash, only last for a few wears, or that has a distinct chemical smell (no thanks!). We are looking to suggest quality items, just at a price that might be a little easier on the wallet.

In this look, Erin is wearing an IRO sweater, high-rise SLVRLKE jeans, brown booties, and beautiful Dean Davidson jewelry. Gorgeous right? We couldn’t agree more. So, let’s recreate it through our For Less Friday lens…

See how Erin styles this exact look (and a few others) with the most gorgeous teddy coat in this post. And keep scrolling for its “for less” counterpart.

Luxe Sweater and Jeans Look for Less

The sweater on the right by 1.State has the same flattering v-neck as the luxe option and elevated sleeve and cuff details. The jeans are by Levis and have a similar wash and straight leg cut as those on the left. They are also high-rise which will lengthen the legs! The boots are the same in both looks and we found similar jewelry at a lower price point…the choker necklace frames the v-neckline of the sweater just perfectly! Why do we love this outfit? This is such an effortlessly chic look that will have you looking pulled together and stylish. The neutral color story is also a fun departure from the darker neutrals we see a lot of in winter. You can wear this now and also right into spring.

    Dear Erin and Team,
This is such a great idea and something I’ve been doing for over 25 years, first taking ideas from Victoria’s Secret back in the day they sold clothing and putting outfits together from Target here in Australia (I was a complete novice). Over the years I’ve looked at magazines for inspiration and attempted to do the same although sometimes not successfully. We all need to see how a luxe look can be recreated by following the KEY points in more wallet friendly ways. Thanks for all your prompts and inspiration to keep those of us in our ‘prime’ stylish. Looking forward to the coming weeks and ideas.

  5. Rachel C says:

I Love the Looks for Less! I’ve been following Erin for years now, and always appreciate her style suggestions. The looks for less is fun and more affordable now that I’m retired. Just because I’m retired, doesn’t mean I want to fall into the “frump” zone.
Please continue this series. Thank you for reading this, and your continued positivity:)

  6. Vanessa says:

I love this idea! I was wondering if you could have ideas for comfortable and cute shoes to wear for an outfit like this one. I live in the city, a teacher and walk everywhere, but I hate the frumpy shoes. Thank you

    • Erin Busbee says:

So glad you’re enjoying this new series! An alternative to the brown bootie would be a stylish sneaker. It would be great for this outfit – and perfect for staying comfortable while on your feet all day! Here’s an idea for you to consider | https://rstyle.me/+24e-0nF_oitPMF3nDjB0AA Thanks so much for reading, Vanessa! ~Team Busbee

  7. Jennifer Findlay says:

  8. Deb D says:

Great post. I don’t have her money either, and wouldn’t purchase such high priced items if I did. (so I say). I hope to think I’m more of a minimalist and conscience of over consumption and its effects on the world.

  9. Patti says:

Wonderful idea as now I am retired, and have to think about more budget friendly selections.

  10. Laura P says:

Love this idea! I don’t have Erin’s budget, but I wish I did.

  12. Karen Cruz says:

I’d like to see more on 5 or less items that are affordable and can be used to create multiple outfits

  13. Noelle says:

this will probably be my favorite series. I will be looking forward to seeing this every Friday!!! Maybe there would be a way, if one of your subscribers found additional items that were the look for less, they could post that items for others to see.

  14. Maida Korte says:

Love this new addition to your content – one suggestion is to actually SEE Erin wearing the lower priced options. This always appears to be a site/blog/channel where everything is very expensive. For those of us with perhaps $250.00 a month to spend on clothing, it would be nice to see Erin embrace this huge/enormous part of her clientele. One thing I think we all do is try to find out own options for the over $1,000.00 outfits (clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.) that are being featured. And don’t get me wrong – Erin looks fantastic ALL the time. But rather than be discouraged, it is nice to know that even with people who spend a TOTAL of perhaps $3,000.00 a year on clothing, that we can still come to this site for inspiration. Keep on keepin’ on! Blessings to you all this day. Love, Maida

    • Erin Busbee says:

Thanks so much for your comment, Maida! I’m so glad to hear that you love this series!! The hope behind this new series is to show that even though some of the looks Erin’s loving might be out of the price range for some, these styles and concepts really are attainable at any price-point. We’re so excited to work on this project as a team and find these looks for less to help you feel inspired! Thanks so much for being a part of this amazing community! ~Team Busbee
