I LOVE jackets. It’s kind of a problem. I have more jackets and coats than anything else. I guess it’s a good thing we live in Colorado so I can really enjoy them. The jacket is the 3rd layer that I always talk about that can totally pull your whole look together AND slim your midsection, hips, and butt.
I wanted to share my favorite jackets from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year! This is a great sale to get some fun coats and jackets but, don’t forget your BASICS. There are a ton of basics in the sale that are really terrific. They might not be as exciting, but they are actually much more important to your wardrobe. The jackets I’m featuring below are my favorites…

Edgy Leather Jacket
There are SO many good leather jackets in the sale this year. There weren't a ton available at the store I visited in CA, but this AllSaints leather biker jacket caught my eye in the preview. AllSaints has a leather jacket in the sale every year, and I own one that is very similar. They're always such high quality and I love all the styling opportunities! They do traditionally run small so I recommend sizing up one size. It's $334 during the sale and goes back up to $499 after. There's also a gorgeous brown leather jacket by Avec Les Filles in the sale that I'll link for you as well.
If you are on the hunt for a good-quality faux leather jacket, I have 2 that I wanted to highlight. The first is this Blank NYC oversized faux leather jacket. I've purchased several Blank NYC jackets over the years, and they are great quality and really do hold up. This one is affordable too at $100 during the sale. If you wanted a less oversized option, I'd recommend the Sam Edelman bomber jacket which is a little bit more streamlined. It's $100 now and $150 after the sale. I link both!
I honestly can't believe this beautiful Veronica Beard dickey jacket hasn't sold out yet. When I saw it in store, I knew I had to have it. This one is a little longer than other VB jackets I own which makes it super versatile to wear with jeans, pants, and even leggings. The warm yummy brown tone against those gold tone buttons is just so gorgeous! And you can swap out different dickeys to change the look. It's $460 during the sale ($700 after) so it is an investment but trust me when I tell you you'll wear it for years.
This was another jacket I fell in love with in-store. It's SO good, so cozy, and more versatile than you might think. It’s such a sweet, pretty, feminine piece and the color is perfection (also comes in black). This would work for fall and winter (just add more layers). It's at a great price point during the sale at $140.
This cotton blend jacket by Vince is perfect for late summer/early fall or mild climates where you just want a little something to keep you warm...but not too heavy. It has such a regal elegance to it. You can wear this with everything from jeans to workwear. It's $229 during the sale but goes up to $345 after.
How cool is this faux leather, water-resistant (yay!) puffer? I love the caramel color, but it also comes in 2 other shades. It's not every day you find a chic puffer that won't get ruined in the rain and snow. It's super soft and it looks like real leather. It's $100 during the sale and goes up to $180 after.
A classic trench is a must-have. If you don't already have a trench in your closet, this one by Ralph Lauren would be a great option. I love the navy color, length, and faux leather trim which adds a little something special. The great thing about navy is that it goes with all other neutrals, black, brown, beige, white...you get the idea. It's $100 off during the sale too.
Wow! This last find from Sam Edelman is really more of a coat than a jacket but it was just TOO cool not to share. This cape coat is that in-between seasons, hybrid piece that would look SO chic styled with just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or sweater. The short, rolled sleeves with cool tab details are different and unexpected. It's very elegant.
