Versatile Vacation Separates

Free People Wide Leg Pants & Gauzy Top

We wanted to kick things off with these versatile vacation separates. Erin wore these Free People pull-on pants on travel day and found them to be extremely comfortable, slimming, and elongating since they have a high rise (14”!). They’re made of a midweight seersucker fabric, have a smocked elastic waistband, and an on-trend wide-leg silhouette. Talk about the most perfect combo where comfort meets chic! She paired them with a cotton top by Bobi that she loved so much that she bought it in both black and white! It’s that perfect vaca top that’s even more versatile than your basic white t-shirt. You can throw it over a bathing suit as a cover-up top, wear it with shorts or a skirt during the day, or wear it off the shoulder to dinner. There’s no need to tuck in with the gathered hemline and it’s the perfect length to wear with your high-waisted bottoms. It does have a cropped length so if you are tall or have a longer torso you should take that into consideration. The exact top is sold out in white, but we’ll link a similar option. The black one is still fully stocked.

On her feet, Erin is wearing a pair of espadrille Rag & Bone sneakers. They have a slight platform and are leg-lengthening since the neutral color matches her skin tone. She wore them with shorts and dresses all last summer. Sizing is limited so we’ll also link a similar pair below. In the background you can see Erin’s travel bag…the Think Royln Wingman tote. It’s a favorite she’s traveled with for years…roomy enough to be a carry-on and also incredibly lightweight.

Gauzy Top & Shorts

Gauzy Top & Shorts

We mentioned that Erin also has the white Bobi crop top in black and here she is wearing it with a matching pair of shorts. The fabric on both pieces is a breezy, breathable, gauzy cotton that is very lightweight and easy to pack. You can wear these pieces together as a set, or as separates. The shorts are great paired with s swim top or to wear over your one-piece swimsuit. You can mix and match the pieces giving you multiple outfit options. Bobi also makes a matching pair of pants that we’ll link below. This is that no-brainer set you’ll reach for in the morning for your vaca coffee run, or to grab a lounger by the pool.

When packing for any trip, choosing versatile pieces you can style multiple ways, day and night, casual or dressy is one of the key ingredients to not over packing!

Hemant and Nandita Pink One-Shoulder Dress

Vacation Dresses

Hemant and Nandita Pink One-Shoulder Dress

Now for a few vacation dresses. This first dress by Hemant and Nandita was Erin’s favorite piece she packed for her trip. With the bright bold color, sexy one-shoulder style, and gorgeous fabric, we can see why. It highlights the waist with a detachable tie and has the most beautiful eyelet trim details. It’s also very lightweight so it’s super easy to pack. It’s a great length on Erin at 5’4” but might be a bit too short if you are tall.

With the dress, Erin is wearing a pair of See By Chloe espadrille wedges. These are one of Erin’s go-to vacation shoes. And while they’re a slam dunk for vacation, you’ll wear these all spring/summer too. They add maximum height (great if you are on the petite side!) and have an ankle strap for added stability. The white rubber bottom makes them not only incredibly lightweight (seriously you won’t believe it!) but extra comfortable to walk in. You can wear them with everything from shorts to dresses.

La Double J Blur Floral Print Dress

La Double J Blur Floral Print Dress

How gorgeous is this blue floral dress by La Double J? Erin says it fits like a glove. The fabric has some structure to it so the top feels supportive but isn’t too heavy. It has pockets and wide-set straps which also help with added support, and a full midi-length skirt. She snapped just one quick pic wearing it in Belize, but loved it SO much she took a few more photos at home so you could really appreciate how beautiful it is! This brand has gorgeous standout pieces and vacation prints that are SO stunning. You can find more La Double J pieces here and here.

Patbo Crochet Mini Dress

Patbo Crochet Mini Dress

Patbo is a brand that makes the most exquisite, standout vacation pieces. Their dresses are super cool and the fit and details are just stunning. The bodice of this mini dress is structured so you feel sucked in like you’re wearing a swimsuit with a crochet skirt overlay. It has a sexy plunge neckline and open back, and a waist-cinching belt. The shorter length is juxtaposed with the longer sleeves so you don’t feel too exposed. On her feet, Erin is wearing the same See By Chloe wedges as the previous look, chic Dean Davidson gold hoops, and Chloe sunnies. For this trip, Erin did a carry on suitcase only so she brought 3 pairs of shoes total.

Make sure you check out this post next to see another swoon-worthy Patbo dress that will inspire your next warm-weather trip!

If you are craving a special moment dress for your vacation…you know the one that you buy inspired by the destination and how amazing it is going to be… take a look at this stunning floral strapless dress by Katie May. Erin was drawn to the beautiful neckline and interesting shape with the flattering twist front…but also the pretty print. It’s SO elegant and the high leg slit adds a touch of sexy too.

Vix Bikini Top & Bottom

Swimsuits

Vix Bikini Top & Bottom

No warm-weather vacation is complete without flattering swimsuits and coverups! The first strappy bikini from Vix is one Erin wore in Belize and also on her trip to Africa. (By the way, you can read all about that trip including what she packed here). Vix is one of Erin’s go-to swimsuit brands when she’s looking for pieces that are a little sexy and interesting. This suit is both chic and sexy with cutout details, waxed rope trim, and gold bead accents. The bottoms have moderate coverage. It also comes in a one-piece version that’s gorgeous!

Staud Dolce One Piece

Staud Dolce One Piece

Speaking of one pieces, this one piece by Staud is the perfect combination of chic and sporty. Erin found it very comfortable to wear when she went snorkeling. It holds you in and the side cutouts create the illusion of a smaller waist. The bottoms have a French cut (higher cut on the leg) which is elongating and flattering. The back has full bum coverage and it’s easy to get on/off with the clasp (in the back). Sizes are limited, but we’ll link the same suit in a few colors and some similar options as well.

This is another sporty swimsuit that’s both chic and supportive. It’s also great for water activities. The top has a pinch-back clip for each on/off and Erin appreciated the extra coverage from the sleeves and higher neck. The first bottoms pictured look like a skirt but have hot pants shorts underneath so it offers great bum coverage. The bikini bottoms offer a bit less coverage than the swim skirt but she found uses for both bottoms depending on the day. Black and white is always a classic, chic, and flattering combo! Erin mentioned it was fun to have a mini swim capsule wardrobe on her trip!

Trina Turk Bikini Top & Becca Bottoms

Trina Turk Bikini Top & Becca Bottoms

If these next two swimwear pieces look familiar, it’s because Erin brings them on almost all of her warm-weather trips…proving that quality lasts! The high-waisted ruched bottoms by Becca will keep you supported and secure and the Trina Turk ruffled bikini top (not a matching set!) has a flattering off-the-shoulder style (and NO shoulder tan lines!).  These are such great go-to pieces for lounging by the pool or beachside.

Ora Dress

Cover-Ups

Ora Dress

Erin absolutely loves this white cotton dress that works as a chic coverup too. It’s a lightweight, easy-breezy dress that’s great for packing and can serve multiple functions on your trip. It has lace panels throughout and the most gorgeous neckline and hemline. The sleeves will give you a little more coverage and the elastic at the waist offers some definition. We don’t have additional photos of this dress, but the length is on the shorter side…great for petites but might be a bit too short if you are tall. Wear it over your suit during the day and out to dinner at night!

Elan Cover-Up Maxi Dress

Elan Cover-Up Maxi Dress

This last cover-up by Elan is an affordable option that Erin has worn on multiple warm-weather trips. It’s a great length and the plunging neckline is a bit sexy but also super chic. Erin said she did need to give it a quick steam before packing it, but it is worth it for the versatility alone. You can easily wear this from the beach-to-lunch or dinner.
