What I’m Wearing In Spain!
How many of you freak out about packing like I do? Well, hopefully you do not, but for some reason, it creates an enormous amount of stress for me. For this trip to Spain, I actually had to pack BEFORE we took our six-week, cross-country road trip. To put that into perspective, I was basically packing for 6 months! We didn’t have much room in the car. I had enough space for one carry-on suitcase and two totes. Making the task even more complicated…? We are staying in Spain through three seasons so I had to think about different weather too. (If you are thinking, why the heck is Erin stressing SO much about this… in my defense, it IS my business and passion. 😉)
My Spain packing strategy ended up being pretty simple; Pack basics in a neutral color palette. That’s it. I packed black and white everything and kept shoes to a minimum to save space. Below, I’m sharing the casual outfits I’ve been living in during our first two weeks in Spain. Plus, some standout pieces I’ve either brought with me or picked up while shopping!
If you missed why we moved to Spain, I answer all of your questions here.

#1) Elevated Tee & Denim Shorts
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love a good basic with a twist! This bubble sleeve tee by Nation LTD is the perfect elevated tee. You can wear it casually with denim shorts or jeans and it really brings the look up a notch. I’m wearing it with denim shorts and a pair of Golden Goose sneakers. I only brought a couple of pairs of shoes with me to Spain and these are a go-to pair if I want something casual but super comfortable!
I share my thoughts on if Golden Goose sneakers are with the money, sizing info, and more in this post.
#2) Sexy Bodysuit & Denim Shorts
I packed this chic asymmetrical ruffled bodysuit because I knew it would be very versatile. In this look, I’m wearing the bodysuit with denim shorts and casual sandals. But I could easily throw it on with a chic skirt and wedges to dress it up for dinner. I’m also carrying my Bottega Veneta chain cassette bag. I did a full review of the bag here. Spoiler alert: It’s so good, it’s the only bag I brought with me to Spain!
Spain style alert: MANY women here are wearing loose fitting, cotton, wide-leg trousers which would look AMAZING with this bodysuit. I’m definitely on the hunt for a black pair.
#3) Puff Sleeve Tee & Denim Shorts
You can never have too many tees, right?? This is another elevated basic tee by Nation LTD. This one has pretty puff sleeves…and we all know how much I loved a dramatic shoulder! 😉 The tee has a little surprise detail too… gold buttons in the back!

#4) Printed Blouse & Denim Shorts
I saw this blouse and immediately knew I needed it for Spain! The bright red, gorgeous floral print and balloon sleeves are so beautiful. It’s semi-sheer so you can get away with wearing a nude bra or the cropped cami I have on. I paired the beautiful blouse with the same denim shorts and Golden Goose sneakers…are you noticing a pattern here? All of these pieces mix and match together! Having your basics make it easier to style fun pieces like this printed top!
BTW, I totally get that some of you don’t love denim shorts. Simply swap these out for jeans or chic tan shorts.

#5) Statement Blouse & Denim Shorts
I went to El Corte Inglés, a well-known department store here in Spain, to do a little shopping and picked up this gorgeous modern lace blouse by Maje. Going to a department store to shop when you don’t know much Spanish is a very interesting experience by the way…I shared more in this IG caption in case you missed it. I styled the blouse with denim shorts and espadrille wedges for dinner one night. If you want something that will make you feel chic and stylish on a trip, grab a statement top like this one! And, don’t fear a cropped top. Simply pair it with high-rise shorts, jeans or trousers.
#6) Elevated Black Dress
I love having a few chic dresses that are easy to throw on and go. Especially when traveling, having those one-and-done pieces is a must! This Style of Song dress is unfortunately sold out. But I love that it’s a more elevated black dress option with puff shoulder and a belted waist! I’ve worn it with sandals for a more casual look and wedges for a dressed-up dinner outfit. (We linked a similar dress below).

#7) Versatile Black Dress
You may remember this dress from my NSale outfits and favorites posts. It’s super affordable and so chic. I love the smocked cuffs, flattering v-neckline, and the sleeves are great for us 40+ women who want arm coverage. I bought this one for Spain because it’s so easy to dress up or down. The perfect effortless everyday LBD. It’s also super lightweight! Note: it does run a little short so if you’re very tall, you can wear this as a tunic top!
#8) Fun Printed Dress
I wore this fun printed Anthropologie dress while we explored a few neighborhoods we were interested in living in. We walked literally all day and I was SO comfortable in this dress! I love the pretty floral details and the green is beautiful! Since I knew we’d be walking everywhere…yep, I wore my Salomon trail running shoes…Ha!. (You can see them peeping out a bit if you zoom into the picture above). Normally, I would style this dress with wedges, sneakers or sandals!
#9) White Dress
Unfortunately, this Acler dress is sold out but it’s a great example of a little white dress that you can dress up or down. It’s definitely a standout dress. But styling it with sandals or sneakers make it more casual and dressed down.
#10) Statement White Dress
For even more of a statement, I brought along this gorgeous white belted dress by Acler. I’m really loving this brand! Take a look at the detail of this dress. It has gorgeous eyelet puffed shoulders, a very flattering and chic belted waist and luxe gold hardware. Another twist..? The trench-style details including buttons and collar. I styled it with a pair of comfy wedges and my Bottega Veneta bag.

Curious to know if your fashion is very different from what the locals are wearing?
The locals look a bit more dressy (but in an effortless way). I’m going to do a video discussing the Spanish style that I’ve noticed soon. Stay tuned! xo
You look fantastic, Erin, and I think it’s so great that you are giving your children this experience! It will change their lives forever, being so familiar with another culture. And knowing Spanish will benefit them so much as well!
What a sweet, supportive note, Meredith… thank you! xo
