Denim Trends | Complete Fall Denim Guide
Continuing my FALL FASHION TRENDS series, today I want to tackle denim.
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I kinda love jeans.
I wear them at least twice a week and I own more pairs that I want to care to admit.
(Be sure to check out my DENIM SHOP here, featuring ALL of my favorites.)
I like to keep you sweet ladies ‘in the know’…so here is your complete fall denim guide!
1. UNDONE HEM
It looks like you took the hem out of your jeans.
(See image above for reference).
This creates a slight ombre effect at the bottom of your jeans.
2. DISTRESSED or FRAYED HEM
Sticking with the hemline theme…the distressed hemline is also very hot at the moment.
I just ordered the same pair of jeans (above) in black.
I love the fit and the hemline of course!
The line Lovers + Friends is also quickly becoming a new denim favorite.
Not to be confused with the baggier, “Boyfriend” jeans, the “Girlfriend” is more tailored.
They are higher rise with a more tapered leg.
The “Girlfriend” is also made out of more traditional, tough denim.
This style is usually more flattering, especially for curvy girls.
I have not invested in a pair of girlfriend jeans yet.
The brand bloggers and celebs are going nuts for, is RE/DONE.
It might take some time for me to get on board with this one.
Cropped skinnies, cropped bootcut and cropped flared jeans are all a thing.
They are not the most elongating jeans, though.
If you are already quite petite, or have shorter legs, these jeans are not going to help.
You can keep you line longer, by wearing mid-calf booties or tall boots.
I like to wear cropped jeans with lace-up or strappy shoes to really show off a stunning pair of heels.
Shop more CROPPED jeans here.
ABC or Already Been Cuffed jeans are also on trend.
It can take the guess work out of styling your denim.
But it can also be somewhat limiting.
This pair (above) is not sewn so I can easily double cuff or uncuff them.
That is an important feature to consider so you can wear a variety of shoes and booties.
6. HIGH | LOW
These have a slightly higher hemline in the front and longer in the back.
I’ve looked at the offerings, and I’m thinking about creating a DIY pair.
My top pick is below.
I’m still stunned flared jeans haven’t taken off more.
It’s just going to take some time.
8. Zip It!
Zippers at the ankles…
Zippers by the hips…
They will no doubt give your jeans some zip!
(Don’t worry, I’ll keep my day job.)
You’ll also see ‘the ankle split’ like these for example (which I have in gray).
The split is either by the ankle or in the front.
Fringed jeans are also on trend… and of course all kinds of distressing!
