Summer Date Night Outfit Ideas
Sharing some perfect summer date night outfit ideas! These are looks I wore in Malibu during a much-needed solo trip to rejuvenate and revive… so NO date nights for me, but it was fun to dress up anyway! My goal with date night is to always look sophisticated with a dash of sexy. All of these outfits are super easy to put together and include statement pieces to add some modernity and freshness to your wardrobe this summer. Each look is sexy…in a sneaky way and requires very little effort. Meaning no bodycon dresses or sky-high stilettos needed!

Look #1) Sexy Top & Jeans
You might remember this white Maje top from this post all about chic button-down shirts for summer. It’s also the perfect date night top! The asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder neckline gives it a cool girl factor that’s fun and sexy, but it still feels sophisticated and simple. The black tank underneath is built-in, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right top to layer underneath it. I paired it with split hem jeans by EB Denim that are high-waisted, ultra leg-lengthening, and flattering. Date night isn’t complete without a sexy heel so on my feet I’m wearing See by Chloe platform sandals. You have the benefit of extra height (almost 3”) AND comfort because the platform is ~1.5″ making them easy to walk in (for heels).

Look #2) Chic Blazer & Jeans
We all know how it goes…we’re picking up kids, working, and running errands all day. Then all of a sudden you realize it’s date night and you have to throw together an outfit. If any of you are thinking, “That’s me!” then this is the simple date night outfit for you! I’m wearing the same EB Denim as in look #1, but I swapped out the button-down for a white tee and elegant white blazer. The high-waisted jeans and longline blazer combo create a very slimming silhouette. The blazer is chic and cool with the ruched, Âľ sleeves and lightweight fabric. I added a Paco Rabanne statement necklace and Dean Davidson gold hoops to elevate the whole look. The necklace also comes in silver if gold jewelry isn’t your favorite. Being sexy on date night doesn’t necessarily mean showing a lot of skin. I feel confident and put together in this look. What could be more alluring than confidence?! If you do prefer something a little sexier, swap the tee for a chic bodysuit or v-neck blouse.

Look #3 ) Cutout Dress
OK, so sometimes on date night you DO want to show some skin. This Jonathan Simkhai dress has all the va va va voom one would expect from a sexy dress, without being too revealing. Some of you might be thinking, “Erin, I can’t wear a dress like that”, but you know what? I didn’t think I could either…until I tried it. The cutout is small and very strategically placed. I like to call this dress subtly sexy. You can also leave a few of the buttons open with a lacy bralette peeking through for a little extra splash of… I got it going on. I’m wearing the same See By Chloe heels and Paco Rabanne necklace which complements the chain detail on the dress perfectly! Oh, and the chain is removable too! I love this dress and the cutout trend so much!

Look #4) Shorts & Gauzy Button-Down
Next up is this super cool and sexy, but effortless shorts outfit. The faux leather shorts are also by Jonathan Simkhai. Leather always gives off a sexy vibe…perfect for date night! If you like to show off your legs, these shorts are the perfect length (inseam is 3.75”) and high-rise with a drawstring waist. I paired them with my Rails Ellis button-down because it’s effortless and breezy and I like the contrast of the gauzy cotton top with the more structured shorts. You could also wear something like the top from #1, a bodysuit and blazer, or pretty much any white blouse you have in your closet. On my feet, I’m wearing Veronica Beard woven wedge wedges for a little extra height in a shade that’s close to my skin tone because that elongates my legs – something I like to do when I wear shorts, skirts, or dresses.

Look #5) Pop Of Color
Lastly, this pink Alice + Olivia dress is another sneaky sexy date night look that literally takes NO effort. It’s both sweet and sexy. You can wear this dress with sneakers or flat sandals during the day and then, for date night…unbutton a few of the buttons and put on a pair of heels or wedges. I happen to love this bright pink color. It makes me feel alive and confident and that’s why it’s perfect for me on a date night dinner or outing. But, if you feel confident and sexy in green…then wear green…or yellow or red or blue, or whatever you love! To finish off this look, I added a bold pink lip and the same Paco Rabanne necklace. The necklace made an appearance in 4 of the 5 looks…so you see how versatile it is?! And…it really turns things up a notch.

Omg I love all the looks so much..love the asymmetrical top with tank built in, those split jeans and shoes…but loved all the looks . I just got a gauzy white button up.. I know everyone wears a cami or tank under them but I think it is ok without one. Everything you choose and style are beautiful and I am loving that lip color. I have that lip color, just have to put it on and leave it on..lol You look gorgeous as usual.
You’re so sweet, Rita! So glad you enjoyed the posts and all of the looks! Yes, totally fine to wear your gauzy button-up without a tank or cami…as long as you feel confident and comfortable! Thanks, Rita! ~Erin xo
