You’ll LOVE These Classic Blazers!
A blazer is one of those wardrobe basics that I always talk about that is so important in your wardrobe. Like your home, your wardrobe needs a SOLID foundation in order to function. Blazers are an example of one of these foundational pieces. I wanted to share two classic blazers that are incredibly versatile, VERY affordable and will stand the test of time. Both of these blazers are from JCPenney and both are under $100 (together)!
(If you need wardrobe basics checklists, I give them out for FREE when you sign up for my newsletter here. For more blazer outfit examples to recreate, check out my How to Style a Boyfriend Blazer post.)
Blazer #1 | Classic Black
This blazer is by Worthington and it’s such a wonderful basic (and chic) black blazer! It has a classic fit, single button, notched collar, front flap pockets, and it’s lined. And one of the best things…it’s machine washable! Let me say that again… machine washable!!!
These features are what I recommend when selecting your basic black blazer. You can find out more about what basics I recommend here (start with#1 and work your way up). You can see other ways I styled this versatile blazer. I featured the same piece in a recent video on “How to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall.” Oh, and I buried the lead. This blazer is ONLY $39.99!
I shared the fundamentals of the black blazer in this post. It’s worth reviewing!

Blouse & Pleated Skirt
Under the blazer, I’m wearing the perfect black blouse! It’s great for everyday with jeans, at work, or even for date night! It comes in 17 prints and colors! It will look just as fab alone as it does layered under the blazer.
Since I went with classic colors on top, I wanted to add something a bit more bold and colorful to the look, which is why I picked this cool leopard-print, pleated skirt! Pleated skirts can be difficult to wear but this one is super easy to style! And it has an elastic waistband that makes it more flattering! This skirt is perfect for fall. I love the combination of black and brown and this midi skirt length makes it appropriate for work.
If you missed my post on how to pull off black and brown together, make sure you check that out here.
Black Heels
I also featured these shoes in the recent summer to fall transition video. They’re really sexy shooties (shoe/bootie) with a peep toe, leather accents, and stiletto heel. The peep-toe is ideal for this transition time between seasons.
Blazer #2 | Camel
The second, classic, must-have blazer I wanted to show you… that will never go out of style… is this camel blazer! Isn’t the color ridiculously gorgeous? I LOVE camel. If you are a fan of neutrals and browns as I am, this IS the blazer for you! It is also by Worthington and very similar to the black blazer. It has one button, notched collar, it’s machine washable! It’s also, ONLY $39.99 … so you can get both blazers for only $80!
Sweater & Jeans
Under the blazer I’m wearing a super cozy cable knit sweater by St. John’s Bay. I love the combination of cream and camel. It’s so beautiful and chic for fall! But you could also wear this sweater with black, another winning color combo!
On my bottom half, I have on Levi’s 711 skinny jeans. If you don’t like distressing, these jeans also come in other washes and without distressing!
Shoes
I love these Liz Claiborne booties for transitioning into fall! They’re comfortable, a great neutral color, and have a manageable block heel. The best part is that you can just pull them on because they have elastic! I love shoes that are easy to put on and take off!
This multi-strand necklace is UNDER $10!
