Favorite Female-Owned Fashion Brands
One of the main missions of Busbee Style is to support other women. One simple way to do that? Shop female-owned brands! I’m sharing 15 brands that are all founded by women. Plus, some of my favorites… I’ve bought at least one piece from each of these brands (if not more) and can honestly say I love them!
If you’re interested in more ways to support women, check out this post.

1) Monica Vinader
I’ve been wearing Monica Vinader pieces for years and absolutely love the jewelry line! I own quite a few of her pieces (see above) and love them all. All of her jewelry is relatively affordable for the quality (think about price per wear!), they last for years, and they’re the perfect pop of bold jewelry without overpowering an outfit.
2) Tamara Mellon
Tamara Mellon is a long-time entrepreneur that I find incredibly inspirational. She has reached levels of success that only around 1% of female entrepreneurs ever reach! For starters, she is the co-founder of the highly successful brand, Jimmy Choo. In 2016, she decided to embark on a reboot… and she began her journey with her namesake brand, Tamara Mellon. From Dutchess Megan Markle to Kendall and Kylie Jenner, celebrities LOVE Tamara Mellon shoes, and it’s easy to see why. The luxury shoes are flawless in terms of quality. They are also the perfect mix of style, femininity, and sex appeal. The pair of Tamara Mellon shoes I’m wearing above is older but I’ve linked a few of my favorites below…
3) Staud
This brand has BLOWN UP in what seems like the past two years. Founded in 2015 by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto, the brand always has an “it” bag that’s selling out fast. Their accessories are always a huge hit but they also have perfect basics with on-trend twists. As well as some gorgeous standouts like the dress I’m wearing above. It’s unfortunately sold out but I linked some more of my favorites by the brand below.

4) Rotate Birger Christensen
Does anyone remember this dress? I love all the drama this brand has to offer! It was founded by former Danish stylists and influencers Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars in 2018. They have lots of 80’s inspired pieces with oversized sleeves, bright colors, and voluminous silhouettes…all of which I love! If you need a special occasion dress, make sure you check out this brand!
5) Cult Gaia
Founded in 2012 by Los Angeles–based designer Jasmin Larian, Cult Gaia has been a popular brand for a few years now. The brand was mostly known for its cool, on-trend architectural bamboo handbags like the one I’m carrying in the photo above. But they have expanded their designs to swimwear and really chic resort-style clothing.
6) Sensi Studio
If you’re looking for some special pieces for vacation or fun summer accessories, Sensi Studio is where you should start! All of the pieces are made in Ecuador, where designer Stephany Sensi is from, using traditional basket weaving techniques. Manufacturing is 100% in Ecuador, mostly through the Andes region, and spread out among many artisanal weaving communities, which helps provide work for the local community. SO cool!
7) Lele Sadoughi
Another really fun accessories brand is Lele Sadoughi! The Dallas native’s colorful and fun take on jewelry and accessories adds the perfect, playful pop to any outfit! I own one of her headbands that I, unfortunately, don’t have a picture of but I love it! She has tons of headband options but I’ll be trying her jewelry soon too…
8) Spanx
Sara Blakely is another one of those female entrepreneurs that I truly admire and who inspires me. She’s an incredible businesswoman (billionaire) and has created a brand that makes women feel GREAT! Every woman knows what Spanx is and it’s basically a household name.
9) Monrow
Michelle Wenke and Megan George are the designers behind Monrow, a brand known for their stylish, comfortable wardrobe staples. Their pieces are casual but luxe, chic, effortless, and amazing in quality! Some of my favorite loungewear is by Monrow because it’s the perfect mix of comfort and style.
10) P.E Nation
PE Nation is a more recent discovery for me. Started in 2016 and co-founded by Pip Edwards, the Australian brand is now an international powerhouse. Their pieces have an edgy-vintage vibe, with graphic prints and stripes. They are also spot on with their cuts. The way that the stripes are placed on the leggings also makes them super flattering (ignore the ankle weights in the photo above)!

11) Tory Burch
Tory Burch started her namesake brand in 2004 and it’s grown into a multi-billion dollar company. The preppy, stylish lifestyle brand is most commonly known for the chic flats, luxe handbags, and must-have accessories. But the brand has clothing, fragrances, swimwear, and much more. Tory is also a philanthropist and advocate for women, which is extremely admirable.
12) Melissa Odabash
Melissa Odabash makes beautiful swimwear inspired by Italian high fashion. All of her pieces are made with high-quality fabrics and have details that make them different and special. The dress I’m wearing above by Melissa Odabash has a gorgeous metallic fabric and the silhouette is so chic!
13) OYE Swimwear
OYE, the Istanbul-based brand started by twin sisters Ayca and Zeynep Sadikoglu in 2007, has the chicest, sexy, elevated swimsuits! If you’re headed on vacation and want a swimsuit that makes you feel confident, sucked in and secure, and sexy, this is the brand! They are a little pricey but worth the investment.

14) Vix
If you’re looking for EXTRA sexy swimsuits, Vix swimsuits are the best brand to check! If I’m looking for a chic triangle bikini with modern details, Vix is my first stop! The brand’s founder and designer Paula Hermanny are “inspired by Brazilian culture and making women feel empowered and self-confident.” And empowered and self-confident is exactly how I feel when I put on one of her bikinis! I’m sharing a few of my favorite below…
If you’re wondering what the BEST bikini brands are for women over 40 are, check out this post.
15) Apparis
Amelie Brick and Lauren Nouchi are the French female co-founders behind Apparis. After seeing unethical production processes in the fashion industry, they decided to start Apparis and focus on sustainability, vegan products, and cruelty-free coats. I have one of their faux fur jackets and it’s so beautiful, it looks and feels like it’s real! I know we’re headed into spring/summer so many of you won’t be shopping for jackets and coats. But I still wanted to share this brand because they have a great mission and their pieces are SO good! I’m also linking a few of their new spring/summer pieces below.
