Is This Fendi Bag Worth It?

So today, I’m reviewing the popular Fendi Sunshine Tote. You’ve probably seen this bag on your Instagram feed or carried by celebrities and wondered…”Is it really worth the money”?? I’m sharing my honest review of the Fendi Sunshine Tote and breaking down everything from sizing and color to weight and more…

Fendi has been around since 1925, but they’ve really exploded in popularity over the past ~3 years. They’ve had iconic artistic directors like Karl Lagerfeld, and the change to British designer Kim Jones, and to third and fourth-generation Fendi family members in 2020 has helped the brand sore in recent years. The brand has always been known for its classic, gorgeous leather pieces as well as furs, jewelry, and accessories. More recently, their trendier pieces with the easily recognizable interlocking “FF” logo have been a huge hit. They also have classic “Fendi” and “Fendi Roma” logos.

The Fendi Sunshine Tote Erin purchased has the latter. If you’re not really into logos, this is not the bag for you. The logo is displayed across the bag and is quite large. The tote shape and silhouette are classic and won’t go out of style. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell top handle, luxe but minimal gold hardware, oversized stitching, and two hoops on the inside to add a strap if you want. Erin opted to add their checked ribbon shoulder strap. It does not have a magnetic snap closure or a zipper on the inside which can be a little tricky for keeping your items secure. But Erin loves that it fits perfectly on top of her roller suitcase.

Fendi Sunshine Tote Sizes, Colors & Versatility

For my Fendi Sunshine Tote review, this bag comes in multiple colors and sizes. Erin has the classic black calfskin bag, but it also comes in a classic yummy brown, brown jacquard FF logo, neutral straw (great for summer), dove gray, dove gray FF logo, white, red, burgundy, silver, multiple shades of blue, and more! You can get this tote in any color you prefer, but black or brown will be the most versatile options that you’ll wear with everything in your closet. The bag also comes in multiple sizes…mini, small, medium, and large. Erin has the large but we broke down the measurements for each of the sizes below.

Mini – Width 6.5″ / Height 6.9″ / Depth 2.5”
Small – Width 10″ / Height 8.75″ / Depth 4.75″
Medium – Width 14.5″ / Height 12.25″ / Depth 6.25″
Large – Width 15.9″ / Height 13.8″ / Depth 15.9″

The Verdict: Is It Really Worth The Money?

Erin originally purchased this bag for travel and does love it for that! It first perfectly on top of her suitcase and stays put while you’re walking through the airport. Plus, the larger size means you can pack a lot for your trip and the weight of the bag is still pretty light. The only downside is that because it doesn’t have a zipper or closure, she didn’t love that her belongings could easily spill out of the bag when placed underneath the seat in front of her.
For everyday, the large size is a little too big. But the medium or small would be wonderful options for carrying all of the essentials, and then some. The medium size would probably also work for travel.

So would Erin recommend the Fendi Sunshine Tote and does she think it’s worth the money?? The answer is…yes. The bag is incredibly well made, the hardware is beautiful, and it’s a classic handbag you’ll carry for years. BUT…if you want to use it for more than just travel, order the medium or small instead.
