Finding Your Inner Goddess
You may have read this title and thought…what the heck?! Well, stick with me and I promise this will alllll make sense! If you’ve been watching any of my recent YouTube videos, you’ve probably heard me talk about the idea of style from the inside out. Today, I want to tackle the idea of unleashing your inner goddess. If you want to hear me talk more in-depth on each of the tips below, I suggest watching the video to go even deeper into the topic and hear more of my personal experiences.
What Is An Inner Goddess
First, let’s talk about what a goddess is. A goddess is a deity of sorts, a god-like feminine creature, and/or a woman of extraordinary beauty and charm who is greatly admired or adored. Your inner goddess loves you unconditionally, only sees your beauty, and helps you feel connected to the best version of yourself.
Why Connect with Your Inner Goddess
Connecting with your inner goddess is a way to help you connect to your feminine energy. I’ll talk more about exactly what that means below. But unleashing your inner goddess will help you feel happier, sexier, healthier, more elegant, classier…or whatever you WANT to feel! She’s a symbol of who you want to be when you feel like your most beautiful, enlightened, courageous, authentic self. Now here are some tips on how to find her…
Tip #1) Adore Yourself
If you go back to what an inner goddess is, you’ll remember she’s someone who is “greatly admired or adored.” You should look at this from the perspective of inward adoration rather than outward adoration. Looking within to find your own value and worth is so much more powerful than looking outward for that validation, sense of worthiness, or value. We often hinge our happiness on spouses, partners, family members, etc. but what we really need is to adore ourselves. This means you need to pour time, love, and attention into yourself. The first step to doing that? Truly loving who you are. If you feel like you’re ready to be on this self-love journey I’ve been talking about, the first step is to fully get to know yourself. You have to understand who you really are to fully love, support, and adore yourself.
This idea of adoring yourself is a common thread throughout the rest of the video and this post.
Tip #2) Meditate More
I’ve talked a lot about meditation. A few years ago, I talked about how I tried to meditate and wasn’t able to do it…now I meditate every day and really love it. So, if you’re just starting out with meditation, don’t be discouraged. Just keep trying! There are so many benefits to meditation and in order to find our inner goddess, it’s important to listen to the wisdom and thoughts within. Even if finding your inner goddess isn’t your goal, there are SO many tangible benefits to meditating like decreasing blood pressure and anxiety, controlling pain, improving sleep, fighting addiction, reducing memory loss, and enhancing self-awareness.
Many people think that meditating has to be an overproduced setup with the perfect pose and silence. But meditation can be as simple as sitting at your desk, closing your eyes for 3 minutes and taking some deep breaths. Notice the sounds around you, the thoughts, feelings, and to-dos that come into your mind, and simply let them come and go. I talk more about meditation and walk you through a simple way to meditate, release some tension, and how to notice it in the video so make sure you watch that!
Some meditation apps and resources include Headspace, Calm, Insight Timer, and Chopra, and I really like Gabby Bernstein’s guided meditations.
Tip #3) Ask for What You Want
This one is SO important. You have to ask for exactly what you want…and be specific. I learned this recently (only within the last 5 years) with my husband. I must be extremely specific when asking him for something I want. For example, I despise getting my car registration every year…I know it’s a seemingly small thing. But I really love it when my husband takes care of it for me, so I don’t have to deal with it. It makes me feel cared for and loved. But he wouldn’t know that unless I asked and told him how it makes me feel.
Another piece of asking for what you want is to be unapologetic about it. Don’t hold back. Now…it doesn’t mean you’re going to get what you want. But it’s important for YOU to put it out there as something you want to attract into your life. The idea of attraction is a core principle of manifestation, which I’ve talked about a few times on the blog here, here, here, and here.
Lastly, you need to know what you want. The biggest piece of the puzzle is knowing what it is you want. This is your bigger goal, not something simple like vehicle registration. How do you want to feel or who do you want to be? Determine that and then start asking for things of yourself and others to help get you to that end goal.
I share more about how manifestation has impacted my life in this video in case you are interested.
Tip #4) Surround Yourself with Amazing People
Do you remember a few months ago when I shared in our monthly We Need To Talk About Series post the famous Jim Rohn quote, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”? It’s such a thought-provoking quote. Are you spending time with the right kind of people? By the way, this doesn’t have to be people you spend time with in person. It can be an online community you’re in, podcasts you listen to, books you read, courses you take, etc. Just evaluate those relationships and make sure they’re healthy and align with who you are.
If you surround yourself with negative, difficult personalities, their energy is not good for you and will not help your inner goddess shine through. You need to surround yourself with people who see your value and worth, that support and encourage you, that lift you up, that align with your values, and who you can be your true authentic self around.

Tip #5) Define Your Goddess
This visualization exercise is a fun way to imagine what your inner goddess looks like. I recently shared a visualization exercise to help you find your personal style, which I suggest you try out next. You can watch/listen to that here or read it here. But now, time to imagine your inner goddess…
Visualization
Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. You are a goddess. You are an amazing, beautiful, heart-centered, gorgeous, ethereal creature.
What does your goddess feel like?
What does it feel like to walk around like a goddess? Being adored and loved and supported.
Do you feel happy, joyful, peaceful, calm, free?
Do you feel excited, powerful, bada**, strong?
What are you wearing?
Do you have on a dress?
Does your dress flow and move with the wind or does it have structure that looks avant-garde and fashion-forward?
Do you have a big, full tulle skirt that you can twirl around in? Or is it a wispy, thin chiffon dress that blows in the breeze?
What color is your outfit? Is it white? Pastel? Metallic?
Is it a more powerful color like red, bright yellow, green, royal blue?
Is there a texture like tulle, chiffon, sheer, lace, beaded, or silky?
Walk around, twirl, smile. Feel what it feels like to be a goddess.
Everyone around you is looking at you with admiration. Admiring your light and what you bring to the world. Admiring your unique gifts, talents, essence, and soul. They love you because they can see what a special person you are on the inside.
Journal
Now that you’ve completed the visualization, get your journal and write down what your goddess looked like. What did it feel like to be her? What color showed up for you? Were there specific feelings that came up? What did you see around you? What was the texture of the outfit you were wearing? Describe every detail of your outfit or dress.
Tip #6) Take One Goddess-Like Action
Next, take that goddess you have written down in your journal and think about one thing you can do today to unleash her. If you saw a bold color in your visualization, maybe you try a bold colorful lipstick, nail polish, shoes, blouse, or handbag. Maybe you saw an ethereal flowy dress…try a billowy-sleeved blouse. If you saw lace, try a blouse with some lace or sheerness. If you saw a lot of gold, try wearing some bold gold jewelry. Find pieces of that goddess you saw and make them accessible and attainable. Try this for a few weeks and see how it makes you feel.
The idea is to get comfortable with doing these little things just for you because you want to feel amazing.
Tip #7) Embrace The Feminine
Another thing you can do is embrace the feminine. This doesn’t mean dressing in a feminine, romantic way. Embracing the feminine is about your energy. There are two types of energy…feminine and masculine. We all have both but because of societal programming, we’re often rewarded for using masculine energy, and therefore, we often ignore our feminine energy. Masculine energy is very action-oriented…achieve, do, hustle, grind, go-go-go, sleep when I’m dead energy. Feminine energy is more about flow, intuition, receiving, just being instead of doing, not having a completely packed schedule, being playful, resting, etc. So think about how you can live your life or create a lifestyle that allows for more freedom, rest, and calm…more feminine energy! Give yourself permission to meditate, take a few minutes for yourself, take that goddess-like action, or whatever you feel you need.
Important note: We’re not banishing the masculine energy…we’re just creating balance!
Tip #8) Rest & Play
This is something that goes hand-in-hand with tip #7. It’s something I’ve been doing more over the past year and it’s been SO difficult for me. I’m a doer…I like to get stuff done! But living your life in that energy all the time and not ever resting or playing is not helpful and actually ends up impeding what you want to do.
In 2021, our family moved to Spain for six months. I was worried about what it would mean for my business, but we ended up having the best year yet. And I did half the work I normally do. Granted, I have an incredible team who was there to support that. But because I took the time to relax, play, rest and travel more…when I did sit down to work, I was much more joyful, productive, and efficient. All around it was a much more enjoyable existence.
Some other things I’m doing now…
- Split up my work into CEO weeks and creative weeks so I have more time to focus just on the business side of the business or just the creative side of the business.
- Lie down in the middle of the day to take a nap.
- Listen to a meditation in the middle of the day.
- Make time for things I find FUN! Specifically finding activities that are not work-related.
Some other examples of ways you can incorporate more “play” into your life…
- Listen to music you love.
- Dance it out!
- Schedule a date night with your partner once a week.
- Take a bath.
- Walk around the block listening to your favorite podcast.
- Take a drive with the windows down.
- Anything that brings you joy!
Tip #9) Be YOU (Dress for YOU)
Be completely yourself! Dress in a way that feels like YOU and don’t worry about what someone else is going to think. How you dress is for you, not for anyone else. It’s all about looking within and finding that adoration in yourself. I’ve talked about taking fashion risks and dressing for yourself before. I mentioned that you will most likely have someone comment on what you’re wearing. Expect that to happen. And when it does, remind yourself…”I wore this for ME. It makes me feel ____!” To unleash that inner goddess, dress how you want!
Tip #10) Believe in Magic
This goes back to the idea of manifestation. When I’m thinking about manifesting something, I can’t think about the how or the when. I have to surrender and let the magic unfold. I shared my most recent manifestation story in the video and this post in case you are interested. But it’s pretty incredible what can happen when you just let a little magic in. If you want to really unleash your inner goddess, I think you have to believe in just a little magic!
