What I Packed for Paris Fashion Week

This is a really exciting post with lots of over-the-top Paris Fashion Week outfits AND some more casual, sophisticated, elegant outfits you can wear every day. Whether you’re a fashionista looking for that special occasion outfit or just need some style inspiration…you’re sure to find something you’ll love below! I’m sharing everything I packed for my recent trip to Paris, France where I attended Paris Fashion Week and the Dior Fashion Show. By the way, if you want to read more about my full experience, see inside the fashion show, and more, make sure you check out this post next.

Disclaimer: This is not your typical Paris packing list…I packed statement pieces, gowns, lots of outerwear, and definitely didn’t take a minimalist approach.

If you’re looking for what to pack for a trip to Paris, I recommend checking out this post. It has a packing list, tips, and more…it’s an oldie but a goodie! This post also has more great tips for packing for any trip.

#1) Aje Gown

I’m sharing everything I packed for this Paris trip from the most extravagant and dressy to more elevated casual outfits you can wear every day. So, let’s start with the most over-the-top piece I packed…this gorgeous pink dress by Aje. It’s actually called the Manifestation Gown, which I thought was so fitting. If you’ve missed my experience and thoughts on manifestation, this post is a must-read.

I styled the dress with a pair of Dior shoes that I actually didn’t pack, I got them when I got to Paris. I love everything about these fashion-forward shoes…the architectural heel, reimagined Mary Jane style, and comfortable platform are all such chic details that make these very special. I’m carrying a small Dior bag that I also purchased while in Paris. It’s the Mini Lady Dior Bag. I love the signature Dior quilting, sleek and sophisticated design, and minimal hardware. It also has a removable chain strap so you can carry it as a shoulder, crossbody, or top-handle bag. I finished off the look with some gorgeous crystal and pearl earrings by Elizabeth Cole. Elizabeth Cole is my go-to brand for unique statement jewelry!

#2) Sheer Retrofete Dress

I know this is a very over-the-top, somewhat risqué outfit but I LOVE how sexy and powerful it makes me feel. I’m wearing a sheer dress by Retrofete that has stunning sequin embellishments all over. Since it’s completely sheer, I added coverage by wearing a pair of tights and a bodysuit underneath. So it’s still showing quite a bit, but everything is covered. On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of black platform heels that are super chic and on-trend. The exact Marc Fisher pair is sold out so I linked a similar option. To make this dress more wearable, style it with a black slip dress underneath to add maximum coverage instead.

#3) Zhivago Jumpsuit

Next up is something you could wear to a wedding or special event and it’s another outfit that makes me feel SO powerful. It’s a black jumpsuit by Zhivago that has really cool chain details down one shoulder to the waist. The cinched waist and flared leg make me look super tall and lean. The v-neckline is really flattering but I also love that the jumpsuit has sleeves and a long hemline so I feel covered and secure. Zhivago makes gorgeous dresses and jumpsuits that perfectly hug the body in all the right places. I completed the look with a pair of platform booties by Veronica Beard but you could wear heels or sandals depending on your event and climate.

#4) Maje Jumpsuit

This piece is one you can dress up for date night or down for a more casual lunch or dinner. I’m wearing a black Maje jumpsuit that I actually bought right when I got to Paris because some of my luggage arrived late. It has a flattering cinched waist and v-neckline, is super comfortable, and is one of those great basics every woman needs in her closet. I styled it with a Dior belt to cinch the waist even more and really elevate the piece. I’m wearing a pair of white and black Balmain booties I’ve had for a while and love…they’re just such a fun statement bootie! I completed the look with a Chanel bag and earrings. You’ll see more of this bag in almost all of the outfits in this post 😉

I added this cool hooded coat by Sentaler for some additional warmth because it was quite cold while we were there. This coat is a beautiful basic that has a flattering wrap style, a hood that’s removable, and cool ribbed cuffs that make it a basic with a twist.

#5) Tory Burch Dress

I knew I would be shooting photos in this location so when I saw this dress, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for it! I’m wearing a black and white striped Tory Burch maxi dress that has a tiered skirt and ruffle details on top. It has an elastic band at the top so it actually stays put. Over the dress, I’m wearing my classic Balmain blazer I’ve had for a few years. On my feet, some combat boots by See by Chloe that add a little more edge to the look. To finish off the look I have on some classic gold earrings, large Gucci sunglasses, and the same Chanel bag.

#6) Pink Sequin Blazer with Jeans

In this look, I’m wearing a pink sequined Alice + Olivia blazer. You may remember this blazer from my recent trip to Texas and this post where I talk about the style rules to break. This blazer is such a fun statement piece with the all-over sequins and bright pink color. I styled it with a white Banana Republic button-down that has chic ruffle details that make it an elevated basic with a twist. I showed more ways to wear this shirt in this post in case you’re interested. The straight-leg L’Agence jeans I’m wearing have been a heavy hitter in my wardrobe for the last few months and I loved them paired with my Veronica Beard platform booties.

#7) Maje Tweed Jacket & Black Pants

Next up is this super chic Parisian look that I love. I’m wearing a beautiful white Maje knit tweed jacket. I love the spread collar, contrasting black and white colors, luxe gold buttons, and the lovely fit. I’m wearing it with a pair of leather pants but you could swap them for some black jeans or tapered trousers. I added some chic Dior slingbacks, sunglasses, my black Chanel bag, and a fun beret…because when in Paris, why not!?

#8) Maje Tweed Jacket & White Pants

I took the same tweed Maje jacket from the last look and paired it with some white pants for a super chic all-white outfit. These pants have super wide legs and luxe buttons starting from the knee down to the ankle. The gold buttons make the pants a basic with a twist. And I love that they’re trousers that fit more like jeans. I completed the look with the same Chanel bag, white beret, and Dior slingbacks.

#9) Houndstooth Pants & Black Blazer

Remember this shoot location from the Tory Burch dress outfit above? Well, I carried on the black and white theme again with these cool Me+Em houndstooth pants. I love how billowy and wide-legged these pants are and the racing stripe down the side adds a touch of edginess to the pants. I kept it more casual on top with a black V-neck tee. Then I threw on a classic black blazer for some polish and sophistication. When you wear something so voluminous on your bottom half, you want to keep it more streamlined on top. On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of black combat boots, but you could wear pumps or heels too.

#10) Red Valentino Coat

You may remember that I featured this beautiful red Valentino coat in a chic office outfit here. It’s a gorgeous red wool and cashmere blend coat with contrasting white trim. I love the coat, how it creates a waist, and pairs beautifully with pretty much any blouse. I’m wearing the same Banana Republic blouse underneath the coat and straight-leg L’Agence that you’ve seen in a few other looks. Remember, you don’t need this exact coat to recreate the look…try a red tailored blazer or coat. Or if you don’t like a color pop, a neutral coat or jacket. I completed the look with my favorite Dean Davidson earrings, Chanel bag, platform booties, and some cool Loewe sunglasses with a retro feel.

#11) Dior Cape & Belt

This uber-chic Dior cape is another piece I didn’t actually pack, but had to share! The rest of the outfit formula is the same…white shirt, straight-leg jeans, platform boots, and accessories. But adding this gorgeous Dior cape and belting it at the waist really takes the look up a notch. It’s SO elevated, chic, and sophisticated!

#12) Loewe Belt over Black Blazer

I’m putting this look above others on the dressy to casual scale because of this super cool obi belt by Loewe and the super sexy thigh-high boots by Stuart Weitzman! Both of those pieces dial up the sexy and make a “basic” look much more elevated and sexy. Let’s talk about the boots first…they’re leather, thigh-high, have a stiletto heel, and are SO sexy. The obi belt is just so unique and one of those accessories that completely change any outfit you wear it with. Underneath the belt, I’m wearing an Alice + Olivia blazer with strong shoulders. The strong shoulders combined with the cinched waist and the way that the belt flares out into a peplum create that hourglass shape.

This next look is very similar to the last look but I ditched the belt and instead of a plain black blazer, I’m wearing my Balmain blazer with elevated gold buttons and a more polished, sleek look. I’m wearing the same skinny jeans, thigh-high boots, and accessories to finish off the look.

#14) Eaves Deconstructed Coat

How cool is this deconstructed coat?? From the back, it looks like a normal coat…but the front has a cutout waist that’s super cool! You can see that the model (when you click on the link) has the bottom half of the trench open, but I buttoned up and tied the waist belt. I also love the cropped look of the coat on top. Underneath the coat, I’m wearing the same white ruffled shirt, straight-leg jeans, and platform booties. But it’s the coat that really elevates the look!

#15) Acne Studios Trench Jacket

I’ve never been a huge fan of trench coats unless they have some sort of interesting detail. You may remember my pleated Sandro trench I’ve worn nonstop for the past two years…I like it because of the unique pleats! And the reason I like this trench is because it’s uniquely cropped! You get the look of a trench coat without the added length. I also love the belted waist and oversized collar that makes it a little more dramatic. It’s just such a cool piece! Again, I’m wearing the same white shirt, jeans, and booties in this look with my Chanel bag, some Celine sunglasses, and platform booties.

#16) Me+Em Sweater Vest & Flare Jeans

This outfit feels so chic but so wearable. I’m wearing a bright pink cashmere sweater vest by a UK brand called Me+Em. This brand has some truly standout, luxe pieces. This vest comes with a detachable turtleneck collar (AKA a “snood”). So you can wear it with or without the added warmth. Underneath the vest, I layered a pretty white top from Anthropologie. The gorgeous sheer sleeves on this blouse are one accessible way to try the sheer trend…for under $80! The bodice and cuffs are fitted which is a nice juxtaposition to the puffy sleeves.
I styled those pieces with a pair of wide-leg jeans by Alice + Olivia (very limited sizing!). These high-waisted flared jeans make your legs look a mile long and have a cool seam down the front of the legs that feels very fresh. I completed the look with those white and black Balmain booties I’ve previously mentioned, some white Dior sunglasses, and my Dean Davidson gold hoops.

We did a For Less Friday post on this outfit in case you’re interested, you can find that here.

  1. Hi, what size are you wearing in the sheer sleeved top? Reviews are mixed on the fit. Some ordered TTS others say size up… one size? Two? I was thinking to size up to a medium (from small). I’m petite boned just barely 5’6”.

    1. I went with my normal size of a small and it fits just right for me. Hope you love it too, Jessica! ~Erin xo

  2. Amazing wardrobe choices but how many suitcases did you have to take? And how did you get that gorgeous pink dress there?

    1. Far too many! I prefer to travel with only a carry-on plus a personal bag… this trip was another story! The pink dress was SO tough to pack and the taffeta was a wrinkled mess by the time I arrived. So glad you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading! ~Erin xo
