Favorites

First, I want to talk about my favorite item on the photo above. These Vince Camuto sandals (#9) are the newest addition to my wardrobe. They are so versatile! Style them with shorts, dresses, skirts, jeans, etc. You can dress them up or down. Wear them on your beach vacation, to a wedding, or on date night. I love the neutral color and that they have a side zip. Like all Vince Camuto shoes, they’re super comfortable! You can read more about them and see how I styled them here. I suggest sizing down 1/2 size.

#1 is the dress I took with me on our family trip to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. It was a heavy hitter! It’s super lightweight, comfortable, and can be dressed up or down. Oh, and it has pockets! You can find a full recap of that trip in this post. Plus, packing tips here.

For a more casual look, wear some comfy denim shorts (#14) and a classic oversized button down (#10). These denim shorts are by Blank NYC. I wore the heck out of my Blank NYC shorts last summer and loved them! I talk more about them in this post.

Swimsuits

Many women over 40 don’t feel comfortable wearing swimsuits. But I’m here to tell you that you can still wear them and feel good! The swimsuits above are by two of my favorite swimwear brands, OYE Swimwear (#6) and Solid & Striped (#8). I did a post on sexy and flattering swimsuits for women over 40 that you can find here. I included both of these brands in that post. They are sexy, unique, and fun swimwear brands that don’t feel old but are still flattering and somewhat modest.

Accessories

The most important accessory for your beach vacation is sunglasses (#2 and #13). You can completely change a look with a different pair of sunnies. You’ll also want a fun pair of statement earrings like #4 and #12. Earrings are a simple way to add some pop to your look and they don’t take up much room in your suitcase. You might want to take a chic tote bag (#5) again, that is easy to pack! While you’re having lunch or going to dinner, you’ll want a cute bag. You can use the beach tote OR go with this fun basket bag (#11). Lastly, don’t forget a stylish hat (#3). I’ve always said a hat adds a freshness or chicness to any outfit. Just be sure your hat is packable, or stuff it full of socks and undies so it doesn’t get crushed. The hat will save you from having to style your hair and protect your face from the sun.
