Back To School For The Kids!
This summer is already flying by for me and the kids! We’ve had such a fun summer so far. We went to Walt Disney World, spent a week on the beach in Florida, headed to Denver for Gage’s lacrosse camp, etc. I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about getting the kids ready for school. My kiddos start school in August. I like to gear them up in July just to get it out of the way. One less thing…
I like to buy many of the kids’ clothes at Walmart because they have AMAZING prices and choices. The pieces also wash and wear very well. The kids grow out of things so quickly, it doesn’t make sense to spend a lot.
I decided to ask both Gage and Elizabeth to model some Walmart clothes for this post. I thought it would be cute …AND (my real motive) I wanted some really awesome pictures of the kids to frame and put up in our hallway. When I saw the wildflowers here in Telluride, I knew it would be the perfect setting for the pictures.
How Did They Get SO Big?
When Walmart reached out about featuring some kids back to school clothes I was so excited! It gave me an excuse to get some cute pictures of these two monkeys… who seem to get bigger by the day! I mean, I look at these pictures and think… HOW did they get SO big??? Before I know it, Gage will be towering over me. Until then, I’m savoring every moment with them at these sweet ages. They are the absolute loves of my life!
Some things I buy the kids each year are new shoes, sneakers, jeans, and jackets. They also both get a few new tees and tops. Elizabeth typically gets two new dresses too. Basically, I have to buy them a new wardrobe every fall because they grow like weeds!
Gage is wearing some really cute red shorts that have little blue crabs all over them. These shorts come in multiple colors, and they come with the belt, which is so helpful! And, it’s a nice belt!
The shirt he’s wearing comes in a set of two and they have a bunch of color options. These are also great shirts if your kids wear a uniform, and have to wear polos every day.
Gage says these sneakers are very comfortable. It was tough to wrangle him for these pics because he kept climbing the hill.
Gage still lets me dress him. I can basically buy him anything and he’s like, “Great!” I wonder how long this will last.
Elizabeth is wearing a really sweet white dress with rainbow trim around the collar and sleeves. If you have a little girl like mine, they most likely LOVE anything rainbow or sparkle! And this dress is a great (subtle) rainbow option.
She’s also wearing this orange tee underneath. Bitty loves to layer. She’s actually really good at it! She comes up with the most interesting layered combos. Elizabeth is much pickier than Gage with her clothing.
Her clothes have to 1) Sparkle or be colorful 2) feel soft on her skin and 3) be HER choice! I love that she knows exactly what she wants and always makes quick decisions. I think that will serve her well in life.
On her feet, she’s wearing some adorable sparkly sandals! As I mentioned, she loves anything with rainbow and sparkle…so in this outfit, she gets both!
