The “It” Color of the Season that You Need in Your Wardrobe!

Color Trend: Brown

One of the color trends of the season… Brown! Brown is back in a big way, and I am SO excited because it is softer and often more flattering than black while just as versatile!!  It’s not just chocolate brown either; all shades of brown are hot!  I did a video about this color trend too that you can watch here.

#1 | Head To Toe

The first option is this head-to-toe reddish brown look. Because it is all one color, it has the same slimming effect as all black, making you look long and lean. (If you want more look skinny tips, you can watch my video on how to look slimmer without diet and exercise here. Or check out my look 10 pounds skinnier tips blog here.) What I love about this look is that it’s not your traditional all black or all white look. I’m wearing these chic corduroy wide leg jeans by Blank NYC. I paired them with my favorite white cashmere sweater and a cardigan. I’m wearing these suede Marc Fisher booties and some chic geometric sunglasses.

I featured these corduroy pants in another post styled 2 ways here.

This Chloe Tess bag is the newest investment piece in my closet. It’s SO good!

#2 | Statement Piece

If you don’t want to wear a full-on brown look, you can invest in one piece instead. For example, this is a gorgeous faux fur coat by Blank NYC and the color is amazing! I’m wearing it with a leopard dress in this look but you can wear it with jeans and a sweater. It will instantly elevate any look.

Remember, just start with one piece, try it and out and see how you feel. That’s what I did and I basically have kept adding more and more brown to my wardrobe because I love it! I would start with a handbag or pair of booties. Brown can be even more flattering and lovely than black so be sure to try this color trend!
