What I Bought at Nordstrom
I flew into Denver for the sale, and have done nothing, but shop and shoot… to help you with the sale. There will literally be 100’s of pages of stuff to sift through when the sale goes live… so you are already saving yourself time by being here. Yay!!
I shopped in TWO Denver Nordstrom stores, both stores had different things, and there will be additional pieces online that I didn’t see in the stores. ALL of my picks are posted by category including home, plus-sizes, kids, jackets, boots, etc., here.
This is a beauty! As I predicted in my catalog preview video here, this color combination is just gorgeous! If you get tired of black and gray in the winter months, consider a standout piece like this!!
This bold blue blazer will look good on almost any skin tone! I think you will also find this color surprisingly versatile… I LOVE the gold buttons. This is an investment piece. It WILL sell out.
I’ve started adding more brown basics to my wardrobe last year and this year, I plan to continue adding even more standout shades like this brown blazer! It’s lightweight and perfect for layering, but cut large enough so you can easily layer it over a thin sweater. If you run hot, or live in a warmer climate, you will love the weight of this jacket.
I LOVE how lightweight and effortless this BLANKNYC jacket is. It will be perfect if you live in a warmer climate like Texas, Florida or California. Grab the jacket in gray or blush.
This jacket is SO cool and luxe looking… you will absolutely LOVE it!! Scoop this one up if you do not already have a black leather jacket. Also, grab the scarf by Sole Society.
I’m not sure this picture does this jacket justice. It’s GORGEOUS!! I absolutely love the color too, but I already have one that is very similar to this color so I didn’t need this. If you don’t already have a blush tone leather jacket, and want a beautiful alternative to black, I think this is an awesome option.
This longline checked blazer by 1.State is SO cool and modern. The ruched, 3/4 sleeves and hemline give this classic print some modern updates. There is a matching pencil skirt you can grab if you work in an office (see above). The fit and length are wonderful.
I mean… SO good! I love that it is a bit shorter which is great if you are petite. The color is unreal! This is another piece that will definitely sell out.
I am a huge fan of turtlenecks and I love how this Vince turtleneck will actually STAY UP. No floppy neck!! The cable knit gives the sweater some interesting texture and it’s actually thin enough that you can layer it under jackets and blazers.
I’m a huge fan of Vince knits because they are higher quality. This black cardigan is an ideal length and will go with everything this fall. If you want a softer color, see another option below.
This brown-ish red is such an interesting color and a softer alternative to black. It’s also quite long and dramatic. This might replace the very popular Leith circle cardigan! It’s GOOD.
So nice, I bought it twice! The grommets on this short-sleeve blouse by Vince Camuto give it a fresh and modern feel. It’s an elevated basic that you will wear again and again.
Remember the bodysuit by Something Navy that I pretty much wore with everything this spring??? Well, now it comes in a tee version, no annoying bodysuit. If you have narrow shoulders like me, this tee will be a heavy hitter NOW into fall… I grabbed both white and black.
How stinkin’ cute is that hat??? I LOVE the python detail and the color is just perfect…especially if you are adding more brown tones to your wardrobe. I’ll probably wear this hat now to music festivals here in Telluride and definitely into the fall season.
I’ll probably want to wear these every single day. They are that flattering and versatile. They are this year’s Rag & Bone jeans. I’m not sure if you remember, but there was a pair over the last couple of years that I talked about loving so much, especially the length. These ankle jeans are the perfect length if you are petite. They fit like normal skinny jeans. If you are tall, they will fit like true ankle jeans and frame a pair of shoes beautifully.
My butt looks lifted and that is ONLY because of these jeans. They are THAT good. Plus, they are flared! Yay for something different in the jean department. With Good American jeans, be sure to size down one size. I’m wearing a size 0. These are very soft and stretchy and feel more like yoga pants. They are also belly button high rise.
This is such a gorgeous basic skirt! I love the conservative hemline for the office or special occasions, dinners. It’s great if you want to cover a bit more of your legs and knees. I paired it with that cool grommet blouse from above and the gray BLANKNYC moto jacket.
This floral print dress that I highlighted in the catalog does not disappoint! It’s just gorgeous. I really like the sophisticated print, the shoulder detail and the cinched waist. Add a waist belt for even more contrast and waist definition. A jacket layered over the dress would work to create a waist too!
Waterproof and super cool!! These are perfect for those of you living in places where you get copious amounts of rain, sleet, snow, etc. I love the python print and the edgy u-shaped side cutouts. The cool gray jeans are by Topshop. Size UP with Topshop jeans. I’m wearing 28 x 30, which is the perfect length for my 5’4″ frame.
I am excited to see more jewelry online, but in store…I fell in love with the Gorjana necklaces. I bought three that I can mix and match and layer. The long pendant necklace you see pictured above, is adjustable so you can make sure it falls to the sweet spot, just under your bust.
The size of this palette is ideal for travel! I also love how pigmented Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadow is… The shimmer shades aren’t as sparkly as they appear.
