Focusing on the Color: Brown
Every year I love pouring over websites, hunting for those special pieces that are worth investing in. This year I thought… why am I not sharing my favorites with all of you?? I typically DO share them, but I usually roll them out piece by piece as I’m able to order and shoot them. It occurred to me, “Oh hey, genius… your readers actually want to get ahead of the game too” (I’m obviously sarcastic with myself in my head.)
Soooo… it’s only taken me five years, but I’m REALLY excited to share these fall finds with you…EARLY!!

Let’s walk through the edit, shall we?? I want to explain why I think these pieces are WORTH the money. Most of these pieces are classic and will stand the test of time. They are also modern. You’ll notice each piece has one very subtle, modern detail which makes it more current and “now“.
This stunning wrap coat is by Max Mara. I have had my eye on this coat ever since I borrowed it from Saks for a shoot about 7 years ago. The fabric is UNREAL and it’s so beautiful you will feel wrapped in luxury. This year might be the year I finally buy it. I am still freaking out a bit over the price. Every year there are dupes for this coat if you don’t want to get the look for less. Here is a reversible option by Veronica Beard. Just be aware that this is VERY over-sized. I tried on size 0 and still felt like it was swimming on me. There is also an awesome dupe by LINE the label.
This fitted, lightweight Zimmermann turtleneck will be the perfect solo piece with jeans and booties or layered under a gorgeous camel blazer or jacket. You can easily pair this with blacks or browns. I love that it has a zip back so the neck will stay up!
I love a beautiful blouse with a little drama and this one is such a stunner! This will look amazing alone or layered under blazers, jackets, and coats. I can see Grace Kelly wearing a blouse like this!
Trying to find the right size in this belt will be tricky, but I can’t wait to try this out! It reminds me of the belts we used to wear in the ’80s. I’m thinking of wearing it over my coats, blazers and maybe paired with a skirt and sweater. There is an even thicker version here (more than 2 inches).
This leather blazer by Veronica Beard is the hands-down favorite find of the season!
This Prada Cahier bag looks SO much more chic in person! And, it will allow you to artfully combine black with brown.
I borrowed the term, “Hat Effect” from my fellow YouTuber Carly Cristman. A hat will instantly elevate any look and give you a cool factor and mystery!
#8 & #9 | Versace Necklace & Vita Fede Ring
I love finding classic pieces with modern upgrades. Both of these are wearable every single day, but they have enough pop to really add some interest to your look. You can also easily layer with these.
These Gancio Butterfly sunglasses are unbelievably glam! And such a standout…
The Veronica’s (they are sisters-in-law) really get fit! I haven’t encountered a dress or skirt I didn’t absolutely love. This one looks SO flattering and I can’t wait to try it! Plus, animal print is hot, hot, hot!
A camel sweater is a must right now. I love that this one by Intermix is cropped so you can play around with layering it or just wear it with your high rise jeans.
I missed the boat on a pair of camel cropped pants by Derek Lam last year so I am thinking of ordering these. I’m also looking at wide leg camel trousers. I feel like these are a must in my brown-based basics wardrobe.
The trademark of these chic Strathberry bags is the metal bar across the top. This brand is a favorite of Duchess Meghan Markle.
These croc-embossed boots will look amazing with dresses or with jeans! Despite the name, Paris Texas, the footwear brand is actually based in Milan, Italy. It was founded in 2015 by sisters Annamaria and Margherita Brivio.
Besides being an incredibly versatile color, I appreciate the size and shape of these heels! Pair with regular or cropped jeans, dresses, and skirts.
